Singapore referee Shamsul, who won AFC referee of the Year, was nominated by AFC after CAF requested an Asian referee
No details yet on the matches he will be officiating

Do you have a link. Id like to see where all the refs are from. Also i wanna check to see how many Egyptian refs there will be.

Why did CAF request an Asian referee??
They usually invite referees from outside CAF. In 2004, it was Ali Bujsaim (UAE) and Alain Hamer (LUX). Unsurprisingly, therefore, UEFA weren't invited again. ;)
Btw, there is also an AR from Singapore in Egypt.

CAF are getting a top referee
He is 1 of 44 referees short-listed for WC & expected to be Germany in June.
Also he refereed in Confederation Cup & ACL Final last year
