It's almost as if the English tabloids are in a contest to see which one can take credit for destroying England's chances in Germany. The worst thing that could happen to them is an England victory. They'd sell a bunch of papers for a week or so, but if England drops out, the witchhunts - and paper sales - would continue for months, if not years.

D.) There are clubs Owen would rather be at than Newcastle. Will the revelations never stop?

In fact, the only new information here at all was that David Beckham would consider playing for Aston Villa within a year - which, quite frankly, I don't believe.

And for this mouth-watering titbit, they have undermined the managers' relationship with the England team as well as the relationship between at least two key players and their clubs. And all, to quote the first line of their own drooling article "at a time when the Swede should be focused on vital team preparations...".

Given the amount of calls there were for his sacking only 3 or 4 months ago, I'd be astounded if he wasn't. Great stuff, you are right of course. Then again, why are the British media so bad? Because they know it sells. So what do you suggest? Get rid of freedom of speech, or get rid of the idiots who buy this kind of rubbish? Why don't you get this kind of crap in say, France then? Are they on average better educated, maybe?
