Thanks. I'm heading to the University of North Texas in Denton. My favorite professor went there and they've got a great international relations program, and I may get to study abroad and even help my professor with her research in Gaza and the West Bank.

Where have you applied?

Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Wash. U in St Louis, and UConn. All for German Studies/German Language and Lit. Hopefully I'll be a TA (and get paid).

I've learned to cherish every Liverpool loss after their fans b!tched and moaned about our signing of Owen.

I thought I was the only person on the planet who wanted to study International Relations in college. Is Gaza and the West Bank where you want to focus your studies? I personally want to focus on Eastern Europe.

Yea, Eastern Europe captivates me. Our family has some Romanian friends and that really got me interested in that part of the world. The whole Yugoslavia incident really interests me now as I get older. My DAd went back to Romania last year and said it was amazing. I am hoping maybe next summer to go to Romania, Ukraine, and Serbia.

My professor is doing her research on Gaza and the West Bank and she may let me come along to help her, but I'm thinking about doing the UN or Foreign Service. I'm thinking about focusing on Western Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa or Southeast Asia. I love the idea of studying Russia and the former Soviet satellites, too, but it's been years since I've used my Russian, so I'll have to brush up on it.

I've got a pal from Kosovo and it's amazing to talk to him about the situation in the former Yugoslavia, especially as our professor doubts Kosovo will ever be allowed full independence because of political sensitivities.

That would be a great opportunity for you. Africa and Southeast Asia would be too much for me. If not Eastern Europe I might want to study the UK and Ireland, but I fear that may become too personal for me.

Yea, the effects of Russia and the Cold War really interest me. I have been around people who were directly involved by it and their views have really made me interested. We have friends from Romania, Serbia, and Bosnia and they all have different stories to tell. I have even seen some gatherings become hostile due to the history.

I've got a pal from Kosovo and it's amazing to talk to him about the situation in the former Yugoslavia, especially as our professor doubts Kosovo will ever be allowed full independence because of political sensitivities.
Kosova would be a great case study. However, that area is sensitive and really would lead to another war or exchange of hostilities. The same could be said for Montenegro, and their problem with the Serbs.

I did consider doing International Relations and European History, but I couldn't see what kind of job I would get with it.

Sorry, but that would mean Cowher deserves a ring, and I just am not ready to live in that kind of a world.
