This Morinho manipulated escapade makes Ferguson and his national team "injury" charades look honest.

Honestly, these conspiracy theories take some imagining. I'd much rather see Essien at the ACN than injured. I imagine Mourinho would too, and we had already brought in cover by getting Maniche on loan. Why would we prefer to have Essien hurt?

Essien made an earlier than expected return to light training this week,

Do you even read the links or does your Chelski alarm go off and you have to defend at all costs... He's in light training now and I'd bet that within a week or 2 he'll be playing for Chelsea.. If he was in the African Cup he'd have been lost for much longer.. So how shocking is it really to think that Mourinho made the injury seem worse to try and keep him here... Because of course we all know how ethical Mourinho is..

Is this based on a background of medical training and knowledge - or just bollocks from your arse?

Methinks the latter.

He's as ethical as any other coach of an EPL club.

Ah, the standard of reasoning and argumentation that we've come to expect from jayro75. Insults and unsubstantiated opinions.
Move along folks, nothing to see here.

You got me on that one Nice..

Tell me if Essien is in light training right now how unreasonable is it that he's going to be playing in a week or 2 ??

Well, I for one find it hilarious for United supporters to act as if Jose invented this, SAF is a past master at inventing ways to keep players from playing for their country with mysterious injuries that seem to come and go. I'd say it is a case of the pot and the kettle.

First of all, why wouldn't Essien want to represent his country if he had a chance? Second, light training could mean a month. Last year, Robben was in light training for more than a month before coming back. All these speculations are nonsense. Unless we see Essien in a game next week, i see no reason to suspect anything. It's not like he can play against Barca anyways.

You what?

C'mon now, he's clearly a person of high medical knowledge to make such a forthright statement.

You must be the one thats wrong ;)

See, now I don't know. And I know as much as you do. So, in short, you also don't know. But........that didn't stop you from posting, now did it?

I would much, MUCH rather have Essien at the ACN than injured. You never know what might happen with injuries, especially leg injuries.

Well, you know, Tuesday the squad lists were to be announced to the CAF and Wednesday Essien starts to train again.

If he's not on the squad list, neither FIFA nor the CAF can do anything about it, even if he should play for Chelsea during the ANC.

Too much of a coincidence for me, especially after they weren't exactly forthcoming with details about his injury. Obviously Essien, Chelsea and Ghanaian FA all play their role here, who's to take what share of the fault i don't know, knowing African officials probably some money changed hands.

It's not like the other English coaches act any more bright though, look at Arsenal, they whined loudest about the ANC beforehand and immediately go sign another African international, Togolese Adebayor

Well, that would look strange if it were true.

However, Ghana were fined for turning theirs in late...I think they did it this morning....which would be Friday....after he was reported to be in light training.

That would make that a very large case of foot in mouth syndrome from you lad.

Or do you subscribe to his school of thought, ie, post something, anything at all, doesn't matter a jot if you don't have a clue about what you're talking about.

Methinks the latter in your case too.

BUT he'll be able to serve his suspension now won't he.

If he wasn't on the team sheet because he was at the ANC he would have to serve the 2 match suspension at a later date.

So injuried or not missing the ANC is a good bit of luck.

It's not as though Wenger didn't know about the ACN before singing our African players. What he was "whining" about was the Cote D'Ivoire's insistance that Toure and Eboue go to Paris and remain there before leaving for Egypt when all they were doing was medical exams that they could have easily made and then returned to Arsenal for the Wigan game.

Is this some sort of taint reference, Clan?
