View Full Version : Rafa should let Dudek leave

I feel really bad for Dudek.

Rafa has usually made good moves, but I can't understand why he just wont let a player who obviously does not want to be there leave. This only hurts the chemistry of the team.

This is one move I really disagree with. What in the blue hell is Rafa doing??

It seems as though he has some vendetta against Jerzy, and will use the clubs money to stick it to him and ruin his career and World Cup hopes.

After his performance in the Champs Lge, Rafa should just let him go.

-----------

Liverpool keeper Jerzy Dudek is reportedly furious with boss Rafa Benitez.

The Poland international is desperate to secure more regular football ahead of the World Cup, but is not allowed to leave The Reds unless a club comes in with a £3 million offer.

The price tag has so infuriated the 32-year-old that he has revealed he never wants to play for Liverpool again.

"It's the latest lot of rubbish from Benitez," Dudek told The Sun. "Even if he wants to play me in a Liverpool match, I don't want to play for this club any more.

"I can't see any point talking further with Benitez. It's a waste of time. I have decided to leave Liverpool whatever the cost and I won't change my mind. Benitez just makes the frustration deeper."

Dudek claimed that he can no longer stand to be at a club where he is not number one, and slammed Benitez's man management.

"I didn't go to Luton last Saturday to make it clear that I'm not interested in being second-choice keeper," he explained.

"Why doesn't he behave like a decent person for once in his life and start treating me in a proper way, like I always have him?

"If someone buys me for £3 million Liverpool will have pulled off the transfer deal of the year," he added. "I'm 33 in March and I have no idea how they came up with such an absurd figure.

"My time at Liverpool has come to an end. Nothing can change that."

See my reply in the Transfer Window thread. Jerzy is a valuable commodity, we need to get value for him if we let him go, and it is not our concern whether he starts for Poland in the WC. He says he has little value at 33 and that is absurd. Look at Nigel Martyn. Keepers can easily play into their early forties. He was a hero in Istanbul and we love him, but no one is bigger than the club. The gaffer is not being vindictive he is simply doing his job.

And for someone with 6 posts this is a fairly inflamatory introduction of yourself to this board. If I was a suspicious person, I might think "sock puppet", but I'm not at all cynical, so I won't.

I stopped reading right there. Not a reputable source. Not worthy of the steam off my piss.

Doubtlessly reported with relish by the S*n. Jerzy, himself refutes (http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N151128060113-1412.htm)the claim, by the way.

At any rate, Dudek will go when Rafa feels the price is right.

well good for him, but my earlier comments still stand.

The UK press confuses me. Papers that sell the most in the UK are the types that would be stacked next to National Enquirer in the USA. If they wouldn't be bankrupt from lawsuits.

You're starting a thread and quoting from the "F******g S*N...!!!"
You have to be a troll or a fool or you have no knowlege of Liverpool at all.

I see where Dudek refutes the claims. I got the original article from a more reputable site (sky).

And if Dudek is such an asset to the club (I agree with Liverbird that he is) why is Rafa letting him waste away? At least get something back in return for him. I agree that his WC aspirations should not matter to the club, but Rafa could improve the club by getting rid of him. As it is, this can't be helping the club.

As far as the times I have posted, I don't spend my days on this board...and the times I have posted is not a reflection of my loyalties to the club or what I know....

If Rafa is planning to let Dudek leave, he wouldn't come out and say it. That would make Dudek's value in the transfer market immediatley go down.

It doesn't make much sense to keep him around, so I wouldn't be suprised if Dudek is let go during this transfer window. The guy is a legend because of his performance in Istanbul, so I would hate to see this get ugly.

It's tough with the British press to tell what is a legitimate story sometimes. That's why I try to check a couple of places first. Even in this case, if you read the article on Sky, you'll see that it attributes Dudek's comments to The Sun, which tells me to take it with a grain of salt. So just a bit of friendly advice for next time; double-check the source before starting a thread.

I do hope that Dudek can find a situation that will work for both him and LFC. It's tough because he could definitely be the #1 somewhere else, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with Carson for an extended period if Reina were to get hurt.

Dudek has served us well, and he will still be a valuable commodity whether he stays or goes. Competition for first choice keeper (or any other position) isn't be a bad thing anyway. I agree with LFCFanInCali, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with Carson every match if Reina was injured. Jerzy's experience would certainly be helpful to us if that were to happen.

How many times do we have to say it? Don't ever, EVER pay any attention to what that rag The S*n says about ANYTHING.

Ok, I'll ignore the S*n says.
However, if Dudek is so valuble, why did Rafa start Scott Carson in the Luton Town FA cup match instead of Dudek?

A quick question about this...if this is all rubbish, as Dudek is claiming, and the quotes are fake, why doesn't someone get in trouble for publishing it? Are the English so used to this type of 'journalism' that they just laugh it off, or does someone actually get fired? If an American journalist published fake quotes about the New York Yankees or Dallas Cowboys, they'd lost their job, be sued and never get a good job again.

Quoting from the S*n while starting your first thread, as you may have noticed, was a sure way to win yourself into the hearts and minds of Liverpool fans everywhere. Take a look at a couple of the links on the last two of pages of the 'January transfer' thread and you might begin to understand the reaction.

Your concern for Dudek, one of the heros of Istambul, gives you credit and worthy of a thread but in retrospect not well conceived.

Anyway, hang around post some more, chat with the guys and you will know more about this club called Liverpool.

Quote: 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives at Hillsborough. Thousands more were deeply affected. The Sun said Liverpool fans robbed their own dead and urinated on policemen and other fans doing their best to save them. The Sun said Liverpool fans were to blame for causing the crush by turning up ticketless and drunk. The Sun told lies. DON'T BUY THE SUN!

What is the situation of Kirkland? Is he still on loan at WBA with the view of recalling back or has he been sold? If Kirkland's gone, we should hold onto Dudek for his vast experience and as cover since we still have a lot games to play.

The Sun is a big pile of crap so i wouldn't take anything they print to heart. While Dudek was a hero in Instanbul Rafa has chosen another so we have to respect him for that. Dudek's time at Liverpool is coming to an end and we wish him well wherever he goes he will make that team better. Im sure he is frustrated but who wouldn't be ? I mean the lad wants to play and not just sit on a bench and collect a payback like some players would. Now i don't think Carson is a good replacement as he has yet to really impress me so the search will go on. As for Kirkland he is still on loan to WBA but at the mo he is only there #2 choice and i think Rafa will re-evaluate him at the end of the season.
As for me i have the memories of a fantastic night in Istanbul where Jerzy was our hero and like most fans that will stay with us forever. NO newspaper can ever take that away from him or us.

Rafa will start the hero of istambul at Anfield before he goes and he will be subbed off in the closing minutes to thunderous applause.
