had an encounter with a spiritual being? I beleive I have on two seperate occasions. The first time, I was real upset with everybody and I went out into the garage to get away. I was going to use the scroll saw, but it didn't work, so I went ovr to a corner. I asked out loud,"why does life have to be so hard?" and I saw a white light by the door. I turned my head and it was there for a second, but then dissapeared. The second time, I was asleep, but I felt a presence in the room. I wasn't scared, and I'm not even sure I woke up. I was actually comforted, and the next day, I felt better than I had in a long time. Before this I had a lot of anxiety and sadness because my grandmother and great uncle recently passed away. I felt good after this though, and my life has been happier since. I've seen ghosts(yes I beleive in them), but that isn't quite what I mean. I mean a divine presence. Have any of you ever had a similar thing happen?

I did. But then I came down. Not meaning to be an ass, thats just the answer.

Yes. Once, during a particularly well-run guided meditation. Stone-cold sober, too.

I've also experienced the feeling that lost loved ones are somehow "near" -- so close that it's painful. Mostly in dreams, but sometimes while awake. Great topic... thanks :)

Yes, I have, in a strange way. I have seen someone possessed so badly that the person I knew was no longer there, but the entity inside her had completely consumed her.

She was roaring like a real lion, which, after all my research, is impossible for a human to do.

I was 12 at the time and I will never forget it.

I think that that has a lot to do with the desire for them to be close. A kind of strange thing that happened recently to my mom: she was sitting alone in her bathroom wrapping presents. She looked up for some reason to the door and saw a man walking away. Later that day my grandpa called and I had the displeaure of bieng the first to find out the sad news. My great uncle had passed away. I belevie that he came to her to let her know that he was gone, but still close.
