I think he is a good coach, even if we had a terrible WCQ 2006 campain I think he should contenue a work with the team! but we need to get friendlies agaist big countries in order to improve!

agree, new at coaching the international level, he's learning. He can only improve from here. Give him a chance to grow the team he wants and I believe that he will help canada make the hex :)
honesty, if he can help canada get back to making the hex, I'll be happy for now as a step in the right direction. The players seem to like him, and no player has spoken out against him . . .yet, as was for teh one before him.

Yes, because if we change a coach after the 2007 Gold Cup we will be in the same boat after the 2003 Gold Cup - have a new coach who trys to develop his team a few months before WCQ.

Lars Hirschfeld kind of spoke against Yallop in an article posted on the Voyageur's Forum.

I'm not sure is right to say that he has been dethroned by default since Onstad was Holger's pick as our #1 for the 2003 GC (only an injury to Onstad gave a chance to Lars).

I would have fired him after the failed WCQ.
I'm not really sure if he has improved since then.

I agree he should have gone after the wcq and no we have not improves under him at at.. but the bigger question is who should we replace Yallop
with? I can't see any big name managers wanting to come here after the CSA'a poor treatment of Holger.

He's got pictures of Andy Sharpe with some youngster no doubt. Can't explain his continued presence as our MNT coach.
Terrible decisions regarding player selection, player utilization and quite obvious cronyism exhibited in the past 2 years.
He should be replaced but it will never happen with our current CSA regime in place. Say goodbye to any hope of qualifying for 2010 if he remains in charge as he is losing more potential players from the team than the 'reportedly' much despised Holger Osieck.

I have no proof of this, but I have this feeling/theory that Yallop prefers to call players that don't threaten his authority.
Yallop likes players that don't mind being his 'yes-men'.
Yallop has troubles with players who are more confrontational.
Of course these are my own theories.

My wish is that Frank Yallop will jump ship to the Toronto MLS team in 12 months time. that will allow enough time for a replacement to get acclimated before qualifying...

No, I don't think so. He seems OK for the MLS but the World Cup is another thing. We need someone more experienced in this and more connections. I think Bora Milutinovic is a good choice for us. If he could get China to qualify imagine what he could do for Canada! Hes the only coach that took 4 different countries past the first round. Hows that for a resume compared to Yallop.

The Daniel Fernandes situation is another knock against Yallop.

Yallop should have been sacked after the terrible world cup qualifying rounds,
the only reason i believe he is still in the job is because no one else wants it,
and Frank is better then no one, but then again? If Frank is allowed to continue we won't be any better off in 2008 when we get bounced from the Concacaf wcq again. Its time for a change...speak up for Canada.

In a simple answer to the question: No.
Unless there is a dramatic shift in his practices of whom he draws into the MNT and mends some fences (real or speculated) then I see no reason for optimism in the future.
There's no reason why former MNT contributors and potential contributors who are good form are constantly being left out in favour of players who can be politely described as "reaches" in terms of whether they'll be capable at the international level.

We don't need Yallop involved with the Toronto MLS franchise, we want the
team to be a success and Yallop is not the man for that, now if you want a
manager to ruin a program then yes Hire Yallop...
