View Full Version : Overrated potential US WC06 players

Here are my four:
Martino - makes one good play to three bad plays. too weak for this level and unlikely to ever pan out.
Quaranto - too inexperienced and often looking to just not make a crucial mistake. has potential in 2010.
Carroll - he plays smart but lacks the toughness of a Pablo or Armas. i much rather see a veteran in the reserve defensive midfield role.
Pope - he hasn't looked good in awhile and appears to have lost a step. i think he's a year or two away from having to hang up the boots.

for being overrated this list is WAY to short. haha. a quick stop at the yanks abroad forums will refresh your memory.;)

I also fail to see how Carroll can be overrated. The vast majority of the people on this forum think he's crap.
I'm a vocal Carroll fan and there are a few others, but it's not like you'll see a Brian Carroll bobblehead giveway on the forum any time soon.

Quaranta I think is underrated if anything. He's not nearly as bad as people on here make him out to be, and he's clearly better (both currently and on potential) than Ralston.

Because there is a constant need for people with insecurity problems to make fun and denigrate people who are way more talented and accomplished than they themselves will ever be.

Twellman sucks.
Ralston sucks.

At best, this thread should be moved to the US Men Forum.
I'd just lock or delete it though. This is flat out stupid.

It does seem like a legitimate question considering this is a forum on the MNT. What is the pupose of this forum if people can't discuss the qualifications and abilities of the players?

There are thirty or so other threads on the first page of this forum, most of them discussing players. The thread starter just wanted to put his player bashing in a place where everyone would see it.

there is absolutly nothing wrong with constructive criticism of players. There is absolutly no contructive criticism here.
Again I ask, what is the point of this thread other than to attack one's own players? Has one ever heard of supporting their players?
