Any word on when the 2006 schedule for DC United will be available? I could not find anything on the MLS or DC United web sites, and I did a search on BigSoccer and didn't come up with anything.

I really need to mark off game days now before I make any other commitments. It's getting more difficult putting people off as time goes by.

With the move to Houston I'd expect to see an official schedule later than sooner (and I really can't recall the schedule ever coming out before Feb, right?) Not helpful, I know but MLS doesn't seem to schedule too much in advance like other sports do.

I wonder if the Nats coordinated that with MLS.

Expect United's home schedule to be backloaded.

Here are the following dates available all season long (includes weekend and Wednesday dates)

April 2, 8, 15, 23 (Sat)
April 5,19 (midweek)

May 13 (Sat - that's it folks!)
May 10, 17, 31 - midweek

June 3, 24 (Sat)
June 7, 21, 28 - midweek

July 15, 29 (Sat)
July 12, 19 - midweek

Aug 5, 19, 26 (Sat)
Aug 2, 23 - midweek

Sept 9, 23 (Sat)
Sept 13 - midweek

October - Open all month as is November of course

From the above list, we have 14 weekends open during the baseball season. Expect United to have a lot of home matches early in April and late in October. This of course means we will spend a great deal of time during the summer on the road.

Atouk and Cweedchop, thanks. The info about the Nats will help a lot. Now if I could only get the away schedule so I can 'happen' to be in several other cities during the right time.

Source says "probably in a week or two at most". Was said 1/11/06

So ... it's been more than one week, and less than two. Anybody hear anything new on this? I have been waiting on an MLS schedule announcement in order to make any number of travel arrangements for the rest of the year. It's a pain that they release it so late.

I had a mtg with DC United yesterday and they still don't have the sched yet (although look for a home game against Chivas at 4 pm on April 8).

Hmmm....Considering I am getting married that same day in Pennsylvania at 3 p.m. I don't think I will be making that one....UNLESS I can marry by proxy...Now if it was a 7:30 start, I would be in business...

Married at 3, Out by 3:30, Go to Reception and leave there by 5 for a 2 hour drive...Now how bad is it that I have this part thought out??

Dude. The OFF-Season is for things like getting married, and having kids.

That's why I'm getting married two weeks before the season starts. That way I can get married, go on the honeymoon, and still be back in time for the Metrostars.

What's wrong with getting married in Lot 8? Just think, you don't need to send out invitations. 18,000 of your closest friends will already be there. You don't need to cater it, tons of free food, and think of the thousands you'll be saving on booze. And then you get a free pyrotechnic show to boot. :)

And in lieu of thowing rice at the newlyweds, we'll substitute beer.
