If anyone in the Northwest is still mulling over flight options to Germany, I just purchased two roundtrip tickets between Seattle and Frankfurt for $681.43 each on Delta. The fare is on Delta's web site, as well as on many of the usual travel sites (not Travelocity, however). I've no idea how long it will last, but I stumbled upon it today. It's easily $450 less than the fare from Portland (where we live), so we jumped.
FYI, our travel dates are June 8 and June 26. Return date didn't seem to affect price too much, although leaving Seattle on either the 9th or 10th kicked up the price several hundred dollars.
Keep hunting, and good luck!:D

Here's one of those airline pricing schemes that always blows me away.
That flight you reference stops in New York. To get on that flight in New York City (the non-stop to Frankfurt) will cost an ADDITIONAL $200.
The longer flight is actually cheaper. Gads.

Agreed. Completely screwey. I called Delta when I first saw the fare to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. The customer service guy suggested that maybe a marketing person had suffered a seizure and hit the wrong pricing button.

Many thanks for the alert on this great airfare. I just booked three tickets for my family a bit later in the month, we have to wait for school to get out, but will make it in time for the games we have tickets for. The only sticking point is not knowing if we will get tickets from US soccer for earlier USA games. I couldn't afford to wait any longer. What if these great fares disappear. I saved around $1900.00 because of your post. I owe you at least a beer in Germany. Or can I make your Portland to Seattle transition easier?
In any case if there is ever any question as to why Bigsoccer.com rocks this may be it.

Thanks for the love! We should be OK on the Portland-Seattle shuttle, but feel free to send me a PM after your itinerary is set, and I'll collect on the beer. Warning: My fiancee will expect one, too!
