I understand that as we get closer to the WC there will be more routes added, but does anyone have a link for a complete and exhaustive train schedule in Germany (as it stands now). For example, I am struggling to find any listing for trains between Frankfurt and Gelsenkirchen.
Any help would be appreciated. Thx very much.

From what I understand, complete schedules for next summer won't be announced until May. That being said, if you drop me an email, I'll send you a PDF file with the current train schedule for trains between Frankfurt and Gelsenkirchen that could give you some sense of services offered.

You can try this. Just put in the right date, etc, in the upper left box.

Try this link: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?ld=212.19&seqnr=1&ident=1s.0195843.1136851457&newrequest=yes&
It should go to a search page - just enter in your departure point (e.g. Frankfurt) and destination (Gelsenkirchen).
I came up with multiple trains for the 12th of June. I think it's actually too early to book (I might be mistaken), but it has the schedule.

The train schedule changes every year on 1 May for the summer. This year a lot of extra trains will be added for the WC as well. Any schedule posted now will therefore not be accurate come June. I have no idea when the WC train schedule will be released, but if I see it I'll post it.

Addendum: the changes made each year on 1 May are normally not all that extreme, and the service will be made better for the WC. It is probably not accurate to say that the current schedule is meaningless, just keep in mind that there are likely to be more trains available than those currently listed.
