Then what's the point of even trying to beat Millwall?? Send out our scrubs, I say.

Wait? Do we have any scrubs anymore?

What is it with you guys!!

Assuming we get by Millwall, we'll be hosting Chelsea in the 4th round.

Sure, it's unlikely we'd beat them, but its certainly worth putting 100% effort into the game.

Anything can happen, particularly if we field our best lineup and Chelsea fields a bunch of youngsters.

Look on the bright side...chances are we'll get a good game out of Valente.

We don't have a snowball's chance in hell of beating the Russian mafia, so I'd rather give the youngsters a chance.

The problem is that Chelsea took it easy against Huddersfield. Mourinho loves to win and hes shown that when he needs to put out a decent team he will do. I doubt he would field a team of youngsters.

Not sure if you would get the game anyway guys but our replay i think is on a wednesday i think the 18th at 8.00pm G.M.T. Its the only game that night which means theres a good chance that it will be screened on tv, not sure if you guys get F.A Cup games but it might be another chance to see Everton.

Believe me I want to win and I say try everything we can to get Chelsea..

maybe they'll play their youngsters like Arsenal did that one time last year, if I remember correctly...

I do hope it is on tv... any chance of the second Millwall game being on tv?

I doubt it as well - Jose has two cup ties behind him now that could have gone either way really - because he started his youngsters. I just don't think he'd do that a third time.

In all honesty not trolling here - but there's a bit of an interesting discussion going on in our forum about the FA Cup and clubs fielding youngsters/non-starters and what it is doing to the Cup. Check it out if you get a chance, it's fairly interesting.

The majority of Clanblue's posts in the Huddersfield matchday thread. Also, Dr. Intoxicated and fernb8's posts as well, IIRC.

Last year, Clan also posted some really great commentary and "memoirs" of way back in the day about the FA Cup and what has become of the tournament in modern ages. Really good stuff, I wish he'd continue that series.

Yes you are lol:p

If i get it is trolling going around looking for arguements?

If it is then i dont think ur trolling he uses his youngsters when the team from the lower leagues or Sunderland :p depending on European matches if you have any of them arounf this fixture or big prem matches youll put out a pretty decent team.

Playing Chelsea at your own stadium? In the FA Cup? Oh, you'd have a snowball's chance in hell. Maybe not a lot more, but it would be an exciting match and one that I would look forward to.

For whatever reason, Everton's been able to put up a pretty good fight against Chelsea the last few years:

2005-06:
Everton 1 - 1 Chelsea

2004-05:
Chelsea 1 - 0 Everton
Everton 0 - 1 Chelsea

2003-04:
Everton 0 - 1 Chelsea
Chelsea 0 - 0 Everton

Anyone else sense a low-scoring match coming up?

Honestly, I didn't know you thought so highly of me....and I didn't even pay you for this :D

FWIW - I truly hope you lot get the result and advance to the 4th round.

If we play a Prem team, perhaps Mourinho will field a decent side and take it serious...well, as serious as a foreigner can anyway.

If we play Millwall, it'll be Scunny and Hudders all over again

I think you can pull up the posts from last year if you do a search.

I was going to give it a shot this year as well, but the lack of posts in the FA Cup thread sort of indictaed to me a general (modern day) lack of interest in the comp, so I didn't bother.

Well if we get Chelsea, there's still a chance they play Robert Huth. Even Beattie can get around that oaf. :D
