It's one thing to adopt their ugly kit - as we seem to have done this season, but Derby County have also given us Rasiak.

He looks slow and not very good in the air. Against Leicester he was awful.

I fear we are going to miss Mido badly. We should play Defoe and Keane, regardless of Jol's big man little man preference. Rasiak is not good enough to play for Spurs.

Am I alone here? Does anyone think he will 'do a Crouch' - prove me wrong and start scoring goals?

I don't think their is a chance he will do a Crouch, dispite alot of negativity towards Crouch, he is a decent player. Hopefully Rasiak wont get many more chances.

And Rasiak really was a desperation signing, he was signed within 10 minutes of the deadline. We couldn't replace Kanoute in time.

I was actually going to post my own thread on this one but I'll say what I had to say anyway!

Being half Polish I've watched some of Polands games and have always thought he was pretty bad, despite him playing so well at Derby.

On Sept 1st I got several texts from friends in Poland on the lines of 'HAHA you've signed a plank of wood, you're going to get no where with him'.

I hoped that he'd be able to prove them wrong and play well. Watching yesterdays game, I particularly took note of his performance and I thought he was absolutely useless. He's meant to be the 'big man' who wins headers, yet he lost out on pretty much every single header unlike Mido. His 'skills' were pathetic and lost the ball every time. He was clumsy with passing and made clumsy challenges, and his attempts at goal were a joke.

Are there any others who were embarrassed at his performance as much as I am because I certainly was. The sooner a new striker comes in the better. I know we dont work with JD and Keane up front, but its better than playing a Keane and his waste of space partner.

I agree. We need to sign Mido from Roma and not play Rasiak. Defoe and Keane are quick enough to cause defences problems playing together and, besides, they'll probably win more headers than Rasiak anyway. Although now he'll most likely do what Postiga did and score a crucial goal against England in the WC...

Helder Postiga would have done better

Not so much scores them... its more of a "deflects off him into the goal" thing. Like pinball.

I can't believe I am about to actually say this, but I do prefer the Kan Man to the Scarecrow.

Weird that - both of them appeared in the Batman comics.

You know how bad Rasiak is when Jaymes admits Kanoute is better :p

He was ********, no doubt about it. I'm fairly certain he won't be needed when Mido is out though as I'm sure we've got a striker incoming.

i think we should petition to have barnard to be backup since rasiak blows monkey balls.....

shame rasiak wont be sold.. and anyone know his contract details at the lane?

maybe i should go to north london and take a swipe at his knee to force jol to play keane and defoe together...

lastly i dont think crouch has turned a corner....... he scored a few goals here and there but thats the least u expect when u buy a tall lanky player for 7 mill... i reckon he is better off being gk...

i haven't the time, nor inclination, to utilize the energy required to rant about rasiak. i will, however, take a moment to assert that he is pants and smells of wee.

...the greatest five words ever to be spoken by Jumhed. That phrase will go down in history. I have been using it at training when I play a pass that is pants and smells of wee.

It's caught on..........

Kanoute was a player who shuffled around the pitch looking disinterested yet having 30 seconds of sublime skill at least twice a game.

Rasiak runs around the pitch looking interested but manages to avoid anything approaching skill by dint of never having an inkling of what it is or where to find it. He looks like a man who can't believe he's joined a club like Spurs, a look that has been on quite a few players over the past 15 years, like Gardner, Doherty, Wilson and Andy Sinton. Rebrov had it too, but for different reasons.

Truly, Rasiak is pants and smells of wee. I thought Kanoute was the sole owner of this title, but he has been usurped by the useless Pole.

On a different note, Iversen looks set to join Pompey. I wouldn't mind him back at the Lane. He was quite good when fit, like a poor mans Sheringham.

Is Barnard plausible as a replacement for Mido? Can he play with his back to goal any better than, say, Keane? I'd always thought of him as a Keane/Defoe type striker, but then I've never seen him play.

I've seen Barnard a couple of times and I've been very impressed.

He's not that tall but he's strong and can hold the ball up and hold off defenders well.

The last time I saw him was against the Chelsea reserves and he was the lone striker. He was excellent and completely dominated the Chelsea defenders. In fact for the last goal he was an absolute beast the way he controlled a ball he should never have been able to get and layed it off.

So he's built like a Keane/Defoe player but has more to his game. I'm just not sure if he'll stand up in the Premiership because it sounds like he's being moved on at the end of his contract.
