Many other supporters groups schedule these. It's basically a big pick-up soccer game. We talked about this at the initial supporters group meeting, and feedback was generally favorable. I can get us a field at Bear Creek Park for $40 for each kickaround. I will post here with details. We talked about doing one within the month. Maybe we can announce it at the Feb 11th meeting. Or did y'all want to have one between now and then?

Before or after is fine with me. Looking forward to it. Should be a blast.

How about both? I'll go, unless last minute work emergencies crop up (and, unfortunately, they are almost always emergencies.)

What do you think about having a kickaround on the 28th or 29th this month? Just another opportunity to get some new people out there, and we can kick around some name ideas and test out our tailgating abilities - plus that way we don't have any conflict with the next meeting.

I could do 28th, but the 29th I'm leaving for a business trip to San Diego. Of course if it is the 28th, after you see my soccer skills (or complete lack theirof), you'll probably wish you had scheduled it the 29th.

Whatever the concensus is, I'll try and be there on that day.

Well if I'm there I'll show off my insane out of shape athletic skills.
So if you want to pick me for your team, I have no left foot, I can't really go around defenders one on one, I have great hands which only work for one position and a very hard head which might be an asset if someone can aim straight for it.

I will try to make it out on any date given. Here's hoping to no pulled hammy's! :)

Sounds like fun,

Hehehe. I got the left foot. I can't defend. I'll aim for your head - no problem.

If we're want to do something the same day as the meeting - do we want to try to find a field closer to the meeting location?

Bayland? HBU? May be hard finding something empty on a weekend. Why am I being so negative. WE HAVE A TEAM! Give me a ball and an alley and we'll have a kickaround!

I trash talk, but can't back it up on the pitch and my head is only useful to protect my body from the ball.

What about Rice? We used to play pick-up games there all the time. There's always an empty patch of grass somewhere and it's centrally located as well.

I'll be there. Pretty much anytime is ok with me.

We can go to Herman Park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm all for playing a little ball on THIS SUNDAY. #2, bring your cleats cuz no matter what we can have some rips on frame somewhere around town after the Seat Select deal Sunday. Fuboy, what up playa? Who else. Small side game 5 v 5, 7 v 7 lo que sea.

Let's do the Seat thing for James and our FO. Have people sign up if they want to know more on our group. At 4:00 we are done and go play.

Lets collectivley plan to go play at Herman Park right next to the Sam Houston statue.

What say y'all. I'm freakin' dying to play. After all this I so need a run about with my new friends in life. Think about it amigos. 30 years from now we can look back when we go out to have a go at each other and remember the first time right next to General Houston and right after all this Sylvia Garcia bullsh!t.

Dang that's awesome - damaging the pitch in the shadow of Sam Houston. Too bad I'll be on a plane to New York City - going to miss out.

I'm a no go for this Sunday's kickaround, as my hamstring is badly pulled. I'll be at the seat selection, though.

Celt, I refuse to make a comment about yuor last sentence there. ;)

I'm down. Don't know if I'll be playing, but who knows. It's supposed to rain today and tomorrow but Sunday only looks like a 10% chance, so we'll hold out hope.

I've never played soccer so I don't have cleats, but I can slip and slide around in my runners. I'm game for a few kicks if the weather's good.

I will try to make the kickaround. I am a definite no to the pick a seat. I can't get away that early.

I probably won't go to the pick a seat but I'll stop by the park if there's a kickaround.

I plan on bringing the family to the Pick-A-Seat (weather depending), but if they don't come with me, I'll stand a better chance of staying for the kickaround.

Does anybody even make a cheap pair of size-13 footy boots? I was only ever able to find some Rawlings baseball cleats that fit my lowest extremities...
