Wishful thinking

I know I have asked this question before but I guess I am living in denial...
Is there any way to get Serie A in NYC? Rai carries maybe 1 game a Sunday and Fox Sports World never returned my email regarding a rumor that they may carry some Serie A games (not just Coppa Italia). Does anyone know of a satellite company (not Direct TV or Dish)or some kind of way to get a little more variety of Serie A?

Not much good news. Over the air (Ch 25) you get the tape delayed match at 11am. (Plus the quite nice 90 Minuto highlight show at 1:10).

With a dish (not sure which package), you get Rai International, which shows one match LIVE usually on Sunday morns. (I watch in a local Italian cafe).

I don't think there is any other way. For example, I can't watch every Inter game, only the games that Rai decides are the most important. The nice thing about the live match is that they have the break-ins whenever there is a goal in another match. I love the blaring horns and trying to anticipate where the other goal was scored.

You actually get two games each Sunday on RAI International. The afternoon match airs on a 1 or 2 hour delay. (the Sunday night Serie A match)

Assuming RAI clears up any rights snafus before the season (not a given yet), the best way to go is Dish network. Since you say "no satellite", I guess you must live in an apt or something that prevents that. Too bad. Besides live and taped Serie A games, RAI International also carries some UEFA Cup games as well - in fact, they showed the Torino-Villarreal InterToto game last Sunday. And you get all the home games of the Azzurri to boot, plus more highlights than you can possibly have time to see. :)

Which is all still better than you'd get in Italy, at least based on when I was there a couple of years ago. Everything was PPV, which has led to the emergence of these ridiculous shows where they broadcast images of people watching the matches (but of course not the match itself) and commenting on it from time to time.

and this year is different because they have exclusive english language rights
no more goltv showing the matches
i also think they will be having a weekly highlight show of sorts

Fox Soccer Channel will also introduce its first-ever, dedicated Serie A highlights show; recapping the weekend's action, the half-hour program will air on Mondays. On-air commentators, and the complete telecast schedule, will be announced at a later date.

Dish Network has GolTV on it which usually shows 3-4 games a week, it's been my best friend for a long time!

yeah FSC has the full Serie A rights. GolTV will have no calcio whatsoever.

Last year, i probably saw the most Serie A soccer. From Canada, TLN shows Saturday evening live games, Sunday Morning and Evening live games and RAI is exactly the same.

Most times, the coverage of games (Usually Sunday) are different so you can easily switch back and forth.

One thing i noticed is that Rai didn't have the rights to show Torino, Lazio, Siena, Messina home games. But that FSC had the option. Including the Roma derby.

Yet go on sopcast and look for streaming TV channels, FSC was available.
I found all other soccer matchups, including Pre-season friendlies!
you should find all important games. I didn't miss an important game that past year.

i use them all

tvu was best quality and had goltv
i mean the quality isnt the best on some of those programs but i got to watch like 5 matches i wouldve normally had to miss

For me Sopcast had the best quality, TVU player is buggy and on occasions, channels tend to swap from their list. Worst when it's on the day of an important game!
