It's as usual...a few bad apples. The discussion I saw basically had to do with the 'rep whore' threads. And basically that because of them, rep wasn't a fair judge of a member any longer. In theory this sets everyone back to the same length and those threads are to be shut down.
rep whore thread? 'splain....

my company is the band's publisher - I've had our advanced 'sampler' for a while. I've seen one blog that has every song of theirs and links to live stuff.
I would definitely like to know some spots in london to buy discs. I do not collect vinyl...i collect live shows :D
I have seen said Artic Monkeys sampler online as well, but of course I didn't download it, that would be wrong.
Not sure if you'll see many bootlegs in London, but I don't look for them.. I'm sure they're somewhere. The best place for used cd shopping is Berwick st in soho. It's basically London's used record shop district. It runs north south through the middle of soho and dumps out onto Oxford St at it's north end. The northern blocks have quite a few good stores on them with the best one being Reckless Records at 30 Berwick. Link (http://www.reckless.co.uk/), they have a couple other speciality locations as well.
The markets can also be good for cheap discs, especially the Camden and Portobello Road (Notting Hill) markets, you might have better luck finding live shows at those, especially in Camden. Another very good record store is in Notting Hill, so that could be a convenient trip if you tie it in with a look at the market, the famous Rough Trade Records at 130 Talbot Road. Link (http://www.roughtrade.com/site/where1.lasso)
Also, check out this article from Time Out about London record shops from last September, Link (http://www.timeout.com/london/features/print/66.html). Old Street, who you'll meet as he goes to every game, also runs a shop off of, appropriately, Old Street in Shoreditch. Happy hunting.

big ups on the info! thanks DL.
clarification: I collect live shows from the internet of (mostly) trade friendly artists. buying boots is rediculous as they cost too damn much...I only do it if it is something I couldn't live w/o.
the sampler I have is not what's on the internet...although there is some of the same songs.

Have you looked on Soulseek, there's quite a few different things there. My guess is the album has been leaked by now as well.

it's definitely been leaked like a mofo...and taken down from many places...it'll still sell 500,000 copies.
Dan - I'll hook the sampler up....If i don't get it out in time I will bring you a copy to london...

Sweet, I went to the reverse fixtures of GPs schedule, and Amsterdam as well, but that was for a game. ;) Don't take a taxi in Amsterdam.
I've always wanted to goto Loftus Road. Should be sweet.
