Actually, I watched this with a couple of friends back in Vancouver last year.. or was it two years ago... Regardless, I was the only one coming out of the theater disappointed. The rest all came out laughing and jolly, in praise of Bad Santa. Why?... Why...? Was I watching a different movie? I wondered a whole lot that night.

Yeah I was very damn close to just hitting the STOP button on my DVD player, but somehow managed to watch the rest of it. I really was expecting a movie along the lines of Old School/Dodgeball, but this was a really crappy movie that just d-r-a-g-g-e-d FOREVER.

Thankfully I watched this and had a good chuckle for most of the movie....

It was actually a lot better than most of the reviews I read about it. The really odd thing is that all of the leads are not Japanese. Very strange.

Yeah, some of the grossest violence I've ever seen is in that movie.

And oddly, at the same time it wasn't as bad as I expected.

I was surprised I didn't see anybody walk out of the theater.

Not particularly. The two main characters in Cold Mountain weren't American, much less Southern eventhough it was a Civil War movie set in North Carolina.

Hollywood's being doing it forever with Italians playing Native Americans, etc.

I thought Bad Santa was great, but then I'm a big Cohen bros fan. Last night I watched Freaks (1932). Really liked it as well. Real circus freaks cast in a Greek tragedy. South Park did a play on it in season five during the Butters episode--Gooble Gobble Gooble Gobble One of Us One of Us.

Where the Truth Lies (Atom Egoyan).

Missed the opening 10 minutes or so.

Decent noir flick, taking place in the 50's and 70's. I was shoked to hear it couldn't get an R t rating from the MPAA and had to settle to be unrated.
