have become so under lolo blanc. not so much a damn the torpedoes approach as a really tight-knit group that has the confidence to play the ball. they score lots of goals.
yeah after reading this thread a few pages back, I thought someone would come out laughing as it sounds like they are extremely defensive but they sure didn't look that way against Juventus. I was quite impressed.

their old coach was a maniac who used to park the team bus in front of the goal... justified when he took over but little by little the club built him a sweet little squad that needed to get out of first gear.

I still wish he'd play 4-4-2 with Chamakah and Cavenaghi up front and Wendel, Gourcuff, Plasil, Diarra in the midfield but thats just me.

Having been able to watch a few matches this year, I really enjoy watching Bordeaux play.:)

Since they are playing a weaker team at home today, please Blanc play with 2 men up front. None of this 4-5-1 crap please.

well, not a huge win but a win is a win in the CL.

They can get by without Gourcuff for a while since there's so many mediocre tems in L1. They need him at 100% when they play Bayren. Im glad Blanc played the lineup I wanted bu it didnt produce much offense and Chamakh really is overrated.

I would say his overrated to a certain extent, (the whole arsenal drama would go to his head), but he also has alot on his mind

Did any of you see Blanc's complaints in the press about how this week's LFP schedule is unfair to Bordeaux but favors OM and Lyon?
I don't seem to remember him being that supportive when OL had the same problem last year, when Aulas tried to convince the LFP to reschedule...
Welcome to the big leagues, Laurent!

Bordeaux are not as deep as OM or OL but are still deeper than PSG I think. Their "B" team getting destroyed by St. Etienne confirms that.

They are lucky they are so good defensively because they are offensively challenged and Blanc's tatics make me wince.

they definitely need to take advantage when they are given 2 penalty kicks in a game.

Anybody else watch the CL match against Bayern from Tuesday? I thought the team played pretty poorly, but got a good result anyway. The ball spent the majority of time in Bordeaux's defensive zone, they really had few drives up into Bayern's end of the pitch. And Bayern had many scoring chances, where the only reason they didn't score is because they shot wide of the goal. Gourcuff was horrible with his corners, but did make it up by heading in a free kick. Chamakh's goal at the end was quite lucky, with Bayern's keeper making a huge mistake. But hey, a win's a win, and I'll take it. I'm glad to see les Girondins will advance out of the group stages for the first time since I started following the team (in 2006 when I studied abroad there).

I think its due to bad tactics why they strugggle. Blanc plays Chamakh up front alone when really he is a support striker. Playing him with Cavenghai, which is he never does, would be a solution. Grouffan and Bellion, 2 more attackers hardly play either. Blanc is too defensive and is lucky.

i agree bordeaux played poorly, only fernando and diarra didn't disappoint, and with chalmé and chamakh being extra-double-useless it all averaged out to horrible.
bordeaux scores half their goals in L1 on deadballs, but every one tuesday was badly taken. wasted.
even so this match tickled the hell out of me; i always thought i had a soft spot for bayern but they disgusted me tuesday; toni who can't get the best of a wooden indian (cf. ciani) without commiting a foul, van bommel butchering anyone within range of his elbows (god i hate this guy; he must have some kind of hypnotic spell he casts on refs, there's no other explanation for his ever finishing any match he's ever played)... and when timoschuk put his cleats coolly, squarely, and premeditatedly on chamakh's ankle i was wiggin'... marouane's goal was luck, but justice too. BFC should have finished at 9

Going off topic here, but I find it funny that Bayern has a lot of players that I like. I'm a big fan of the German national team (since Scotland never makes it to the WC or Euros, I usually root for Germany). So I like Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Klose, and Gómez. And Franck Ribéry is another one of my favourite players. But I can't stand Toni and generally just dislike Bayern as a team.
