I do like that new red away jersey. I still think white and black shoud be home jersey though.

I own the new 06 German Home WeltMeisterschaft jersey, and it is very nice. I hate the red 06 away jersey though, I prefer Green like our old away jerseys. I like Klinnsmann, but if he changes our black/white colors I'll be pissed. No other nation wears those colors, which makes it unique. I think black/white represent us the best considering the world considers us bland, which is alright with me

Austria has exactly the same kit as Germany.

Ja I have seen them in the black/white, but it's not the same as Germany's. I see Austria more in their red/white kits. Germany's are the tradional 3 stripe brand of Adidas which blows away Puma's gear. Plus Austria used to be part of Germany and had the same cultural origins as the Germans maybe thats why they have the same colors. The World however only recognizes one team in black/white the mighty Deutschland.

White shirt/black shorts had always been Austria's home kit - they didn't change it until very recently.

Germany has a penchant for making the most boring and ugly looking Jerseys.
That world cup 90 jersey was really pathetic. It looked so simple. I mean come on, the whole world is watching you guys, and you went on to win, but you subject millions of football fans to a boring and drab jersey. It even made players like Klinsmann, Augenthaler, who look(ed) good otherwise , seem ugly.
THAT JERSEY AND OTHERS LIKE IT IS THE MAIN REASON I'VE NEVER SUPPORTED THE NATIONALELF
Another set of drab jerseys is the world cup 98 and euro cup 96 jerseys, which looked like a white undershirt.
The green jersey, that looked like a goalkeepers jersey, and was ugly too.
The red jersey, it is marginally better than the white and red ones, but is still bad.
Why does Germany wear white? Its not on their national flag? I think they should add more colour to their jersey, and wear a golden black combination.
One of the biggest reasons that Germany is not as popular in neutral places, like Holland/England/Portugal or Spain are, inspite of being more sucessful than all of them combined is that their Jersey is a put off.

I am not a guy. Can't you make out by the name.
What does where I come from have any relevance with the discussion?It is an opinion. I know you won 3 world cup and 3 euro titles in the same jersey. I had said you before, you are the most sucessful team in Europe. That in no way indicates that your jersey is the best. Even when Germany was a world champion, or Eurochampion, the jerseys of other countries were more popular than German jerseys. That is becuase most people find that black and white combination very very plain.

Frauenschach? For schach white and black is a good combination, not for a footballteam as glorious as the nationalelf. Why is wearing a jersey that looks good ( not plain and boring) equated to being gay or girlie? Is Brazil gay or girlie?

Yes they did. But your team recently wore a red jersey against Italy. Looks like times are changing.

our nationalteam is not an comercial thing, this is not an Club like Bayern, Bayern has Gold away shirt, no problem, but a nationalteam is different.
look at italy, there wear since 100yrs the same colors, whats up with france? always blue and Brazil?? Yellow and Green.
France has the same jersey in other colors.
i would never buy an comercial jersey NEVER. i would also never buy an Pink Bayernshirt with T-Com on it.
this is an nationalteam, it has to do with tradition and feelings.
The best Jersey would be White with black Adidas Stripes and a black Adler on it, not more.

Also on this thread I read the history behind the green jersey. That seems improvisation more than tradition to me.
Look at Croatia or Japan or some new commer to the world cup. In Asia, those jerseys are more popular than German jersey.
I agree on one thing with you. The adler looks magnificent.

thats the problem, they do it for money and forget their tradition, ok Japan has not that big football tradition..
the green jerseys was at the WC 1990 and we still laugh about them ;)
they was really ugly, but ok, its 16 years ago now.
croatia play many many years in that karo(?) shirts
Holland play in Orange
AND Italy plays in Blue !! their Flag is Green-White-Red !!

i got the exact same jersey. Bought it in Karlsruhe in Karstadt sport.:D
