Thought that it might be nice to put all the Maniche stuff in a Maniche thread:

He's eligible to play in the Champions League. Are we loaning him just for the Barca game I wonder?

Will he be one of those quiet signings who goes on to really prove himself in the team?

He is a good player, but i can't see him getting to much playing time with healthy Essien and Maka. He might be a good replacement for Guddy, but how often does Guddy start. In any case, if he helps us beat those cocky Catalanian bastards and then never plays, i'll be happy with that.

I loved my puppy too, untill he took slash on the rug.

We'll see what he produces.
Honestly, I think he's being talked up a tad too much already.

this much

“We lost Gérémi for six or seven weeks, we have lost Essien for we don’t know how long but certainly for the Champions League, we have lost Drogba. Gudjohnsen can be the striker we need because we don’t have Drogba, but we have Makelele with four yellow cards, we have Lampard with two yellow cards for the Champions League, so we are in the edge of our balance in midfield.

Hey Guys.. Maniche is a very good player and has a great shot. He helped Porto win the Champions league a couple of years ago, and helped Portugal reach the finals of the Euro. When he does get playing time at chelsea he won't dissapoint. Goodluck to him and to Chelsea in the premiereship and Champions league.

I remember him for that wonder goal in euro 2004.I think he's a very talented player.I've heard many people say,he won't get a game with maka, lamps and Essien.who knows, its all about proving yourself in the eyes of the gaffer.I remember when Robben came to chelsea, many people thought him and duff couldn't play on the same team.
Just Imagine us leading barca 3-0 at the nous camp.and in the last minutes, jose brings on Maniche, instead of Huth for say,Robben.
a line up like this can always play the lats 10 minutes in a game where we are say up 2-0.
cech
Ferriera gallas Terry Del
maniche maka Essien Lamps
cole
Crespo.
not even brazil can break down that midfield in the last 10 minutes of a game!

For Chelsea's sake, I hope he plays better than he dresses...geez, that is an ugly coat.

I wonder if Mourinho will throw Maniche into the FA cup immediately.
Obviously lets hope he does well and that he scores a few more goals like the one he did against the Dutch in the Euros.

I read somewhere that Jose was planning on playing Maniche against Huddersfield.

I actually like this idea - even though he's a foreigner :D

He'll be full of desire to make a good showing, willing to bust a gut to get the ball and have a general "I have to get stuck in" mental attitude. He won't shirk the rough house tactics that are sure to come from Huddersfield - they are where they are for a reason, an abundance of skill isn't one of them ;)

Good move if he actually does it.
Is he fit enough to play though, didn't the Russian season end a few months back?
Wouldn't want him to crock himself in his first match, by trying too hard to impress, when not fully match fit.

Could you define 'a little while back'?
