Busta, GZA, De La Soul???
:)
He's had a ton of hip hop acts on his show, so I have no idea which episode you watched.
I'm pretty psyched to learn that he's coming back for a third season.

Aren't they just airing the episodes that were completed before he went Syd Barrett? That's not exactly "coming back".

Actually, I'm not sure. I just went to Comedy Central's site and saw something about "Chappelle's Show Season 3 Previews" and assumed that he came back.

His recent standup appearance in Vegas (http://www.thenation.com/doc/20060102/krassner) apparently killed. Talking about Kanye West's comments at the Katrina benefit: "Kanye did the bravest thing. The bravest. I'm gonna miss him. I'm not gonna risk my career to tell white people obvious things."

I wish Rick James were still around so we could have James's Show and he could do a skit busting Chapelle's balls for the biggest (and lamest) $50 million freakout of all-time. COMEDY GOLD I TELL YA!

Sheeeeeit. Had Slick Rick lived, the pub from Chappelle would have resurrected his career the same way Eddie Murphy's jokes did for James Brown. All humor aside, both comedians are on record as being big fans of the respective musicians.
Don't have an opinion myself, but I've heard folks say the whole Chappelle bail-out was planned from the gitgo- he does this for a year or two, then "quits" and the DVD sales go thru the roof. Everybody wins.

So, anybody else catch yesterdays show? I had a good laugh at a few of the skits but also thought they revolved around his new contract. Maybe that was just choice of editing what with everything that happened. Either way looking forward to next Sundays episode.
Also thought the best line was Charlie Murphy saying without the show people would still be calling him Eddie Murphy's brother.

I saw his standup show here in Atlanta about 3 weeks ago. It was freaking hilarious. The guy is just flat out funny. Also made me want to read Iceberg Slim's book.
