20 bottles of riesling? It is way too sweet for normal consumption IMO. I'm more of a red fan myself. I do like riesling with a cheese course, maybe a good Gruyere or mild blue. Also, it is great with spicy foods. Try it with a good spicy Thai curry. Mmmmmmm!! Try Covey Run Reisling from Washington state. It isn't too sweet and not too expensive.
I love Rieslings with garlicky foods...cuts it like a knife.
Or a good Gewurtztraminer??

I haven't had tried a Gewürztraminer yet, but I'll have to put it on the list!

OK Cam, how do you get those umlauts over the "u"? Are you on a Mac? Its bothered me about my PC for years that I can't easily do those (and many other non-US symbols).

I cheated and copied it from a website where I was reading up on that wine.

Unfortunately, yes.
Is it sad that I actually really look forward to the Manischewitz served for communion? "Yes, can I get the supersized cup please?"
Thanks for the tips guys. My boss is big on recommending the German wines, as well. We're not locked into reislings, but neither my wife and I are big on bitter or dry wines either. We're exploring more reds, especially with cooking. Also have been trying some Pinot Gris and other whites.
Although, in reflecting on the B&Js, perhaps the problem is in my concept of wines being for drinking as opposed to sipping. As it is it's tough to handle glasses that are just half full! :p
The chiller was acquired mostly to fill in a hole where a garbage compacter used to be. ("3-PO, shut down all the garbage compactors on the detention level!") This fit in perfectly and was cheaper to install than having one cabinet made. But now that we have it I keep thinking how stupid it looks with just 5 bottles in there. "We paid $*** just to chill a six pack of Beringer?"

LOL!!
A good, yet cheap white that is not too dry is Lindeman's Bin 65 chardonnay. It is Australian and crisp yet fruitty. The best part is only about $6 a bottle. One of my favorite reds right now is a Zindandel (not a white zin) by Cline. It is about $9 a bottle and really good. It isn't as heavy as some Zins can be, but it has good body and good berry hints.

One thing having the chiller is helping with: We're spending more time drinking before and after meals out, meaning we don't have to pay the unholy prices for wine at the restaurant. Or feel compelled to stop at 1 glass per night!
Why do I feel this could be an expensive hobby?
BTW, I tried to rep you for the B&J add, but alas some spreading is in order. Until then, you get this!
