I got no dog in this fight but I, for one, agree with him. Hate the man's lifestyle all you want, Texas is a shell of a championship-contending team without VY. His passing efficiency is generated by the need for defensive backfields to keep their heads on swivels and worry more about his scrambling. The man is a freak (and should go pro). The Texas lines are great, and it's no slouch of a team by any stretch, but VY means a whole hell of a lot to that team, moreso than any other player to any other team. Hats off to them for doing the job needed last night, they're the national champs (in as much as 1-A football permits). But if they play that game 5 times my money says USC wins 3 of them. More weapons, better coaching... They appear the better team. VY would have to have such monster nights game in, game out, USC would merely need to be who they are.
IM humble O, anyway.
Now, can someone tell me again why Texas doesn't have a 100k stadium?

Gotta disagree with you on this one. First of all Vince Young is part of the Texas team, so arguing that SC is a more complete team is moot. The only thing SC had on Texas last night was a better Offensive line, alot of QB's will look great when no one gets close to them for almost the whole night, and Leinart had all day when he dropped back to pass. And did you see the holes they were opening up for White and Bush? The SC Offensive Line is monstrous and they make their offensive weapons look better than they probably are. Better coaching by Pete Carrol? Not too sure about that one, wasted time outs, the bad fourth down call, sorry but he blew it. Kinda reminds me of that Tom Cruise movie (was it "All the Right Moves"?) "We didn't quit, you QUIT!"

vincent young was 30-40 for 267 yds~ pretty effective..
and ya, the spread option works, because he can throw the ball out of it anti. 19 carries = 200 yds.
and to think people in california think we dont play football down here in texas.
Uh, you do realize that i wasn't actually suggesting that Vince Young should actually have run every time? But throwing short passes to wide open receivers didn't really convince me that Young is the greatest passer in the world. When it was fourth down with 19 seconds left, were you calling for the run or the pass? :rolleyes:

it's kinda hard when Blockbuster is about 30 seconds away and i can just walk over and i don't rent enough movies to justify Netflix.

Yeah i had to miss him here on 12/29 (dad's birthday) he was opening for Sleater-Kinney, Quasi was on the bill as well. Crazy lineup.
I'm almost done with my 4 disc end of year compilation, I put the Silver Jews song 'how can I love you if you won't lie down on it'. A good tune that.
I'll send you a a link to the torrent for my best of soon. Can you d/l torrents?
