I am sure there are many threads on BigSoccer that are considered by many as classics. What are these threads? Please provide links to them.

My picks from the Yank Abroad Forum

Hopefully the following might become a reality one day.
Request for a Classic Threads Forum and Classic Threads Nominee SubForum (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=250291)

Classic Threads
Sub-Forum: Classic Threads Nominee

In the future/hypothetical Classic Threads Nominee SubForum, I think "Yank Kid at Torino" has the best shot at promotion into the Classic Threads Forum by getting the required 2/3 majority of the votes. No idea how relegation out of the Classic Threads Forum would work though. :)

I must say I thought this was a great idea when I saw it in the Customer Service boards.

The BG has had some fantastic threads that are an education to all that read them.

Here are a few of my favourites:

The greatest ever XI
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=129040&page=1&pp=15&highlight=heynckes
This takes a while to get going, but has posts from most of BigSoccer's best, and a series of posts by tpmazembe unlikely to be bettered.

The draft of drafts
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100986&highlight=Draft+Drafts
This was an epic thread and process, which was great fun to take part in and to read. Lots for people to learn here.

The BigSoccer Profiles Thread
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=232370&highlight=profile
A series of profiles of some of the game's greatest ever players, all accompanied by a statistical overview of their career.

BigSoccer Profiles Complimentary Thread
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=275084&page=1&highlight=profile
A huge bank of statistics, facts and trivia for the careers of hundreds of the game's greatest players.

Nice idea.

I don't know if it's a classic, but here is one of my favorite
threads:

http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144015&page=9&pp=15

(A discussion of the DVD 'Pele-Eterno'.)

You will find some worthy posts by Jawz, Gregoriak, Tpmazembe,
Neovox, and others, in this 10-page thread.

Not to self-aggrandize, but on page 9 I contributed a long post
that some found useful. Enjoy.

Got some more Threads that might be considered 'classic.' If they take my suggestion, there will be a SubForum to nominate threads with a poll of course. 2/3 majority is required for promotion and 70% majority is required for relegation (removing a thread that already has classic status.)

WoW. I can't believe I haven't read this until now. Has to be the funniest thread on Bigsoccer.

Connor from the StarKick commercials nationally ranked? (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100461)

The funny thing about this thread is that somebody finally tracked down Connor and he actually posted several replies on this very thread. Classic.

Oh right, I had thought we were just nominating threads from the BG forum.

In that case add these to my suggestions:

Puskas' Career Stats
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=141484&page=2&pp=15
This one starts out as a straight profile and statistics thread but soon gets going into a discussion of Pele, Puskas, Di Stefano and others. Some great analysis here.

The Gerd Muller Goal Story
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=152025&highlight=gerd
More statistical genius from Gregoriak.

The Greatest Player Europe Ever Saw
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126511&page=1&pp=15
A debate that takes in many angles, including a comparison of playing in the modern era as opposed to the past, the relative merits of Zidane, Cruyff and Platini, a discussion of Beckenbauer. There is some rubbish in there as well but it's worth sifting through it.

Simon Elliot signs with Fulham (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280319) lot of witty comments because it was such a surprise. However, the best part is when a New Zealand national newspaper used several quotes from that very thread.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=4&ObjectID=10362391

Originally Posted by New Zealand Herald

"Simon friggin' Elliott? Fulham ... the soccer team? Or is this for some NFL Europe team in need of a field goal kicker?". This was the response from one contributor to the website.

" ... Good riddance! I won't miss that turtle along with that horrid hair piece he sported," said another. "He will be like a rabbit in headlights".

Some might put the remarks down to sour grapes , but critics haven't held back.

"Well unless the crisp Columbus air caused him to change, he was probably the second most inaccurate shooter of all time," was another remark.

The Columbus supporter went on to say: "The worst thing was, whenever we had a free kick near the area we knew he was going to take it, and we knew he was going to miss it."

Elliott's signing was defended, however, by a Fulham fan: "Fulham have very little money, and we need a defensive midfielder ... if Elliott can provide the sort of grit that Ryan Nelsen gives Blackburn, it's a good signing."

One loyal fan said Elliott was Columbus Crew's best player and put in consistent and quality performances each week.

"No he wasn't, no he didn't," was the immediate reply.

Well good luck Elliott and good luck Fulham on your new signing.
