SportsCenter had the top ten plays of the day and McBrides goal for Everton on his debut against Keller was play #7.
The only strange item was that all the other plays were from Monday and I thought McBride's goal came on Sunday.

Isn't the EPL funny about releasing game highlights? [Whatever the reason I'm sure it deals with $$.]
I've noticed on Sky Sports News that they it takes at least a day before they show EPL game highlights. On the day of the game all they show are player interviews from after the game or shots of players during warmups.
Perhaps that's why ESPN was delayed a day, too.

You sure that was McBride? Looked more like a Josh Wolff or Clint Mathis goal to me?

Was Mike Segroves mentioned? ;)

As with all plays of the day it was pretty short.
The clip was the through ball, McBride taking it in stride and sliding it past Keller and then celebrating by kissing his ring.
The commentary simply mentioned Brian McBride scoring on his debut for EPL side Everton against his national team teammate Kasey Keller.

Seeing that Berman does some babbling plays of the week on Sunday - there was probably no room for McBrides goal. Pretty cool that they put it in Monday though.

Sign 189,235 that soccer has made it in this country, for those who are counting.

Cool! Some ESPN intern must have pointed out that our World Cup players don't just play once every 4 years!
Actually, it's not unusual to see the occasional spectacular goal on such "plays of the day" type of stuff. What's unusual here is that someone actually put 2 and 2 together and figured out that this was a goal that had particular relevance for the USA.

And I got to be at the match to see it in person. I feel special.

Were they chanting "USA-USA" after he scored?

This was a Spurs home game, and I didn't hear the Everton fans chanting that. Spurs fans, however, did cheer USA-USA on a couple of Keller saves.
Here's a very distant picture of McBride that I took at the game. The zoom on my digital camera is practically non-existant.

That's weird, because on TV I swear you could hear USA chants after the goal.

I don't recall hearing it, possibly because I was sitting among numerous Spurs' supporters, whom were screaming unmentionables at a high decible level, therefore drowning out any "USA" chant I might have heard.

Actually, when I saw it on Plays of the Day, Kevin Frazier said something like "It's always good to go across the pond to see an American doing well." I don't actually think he pointed out that the goal was score on Keller, though.
