I read in the Daily Mirror today that Stuart Pearce has told his players that the summer break will have to be cut short because Man City are going to be in the Intertoto Cup  :) I guess that if it is true then it is good news
If anyone wants to know the structure of the Intertoto Cup and find out other info about it then visit here: http://www.uefa.com/competitions/intertotocup/index.html

Pearce ready for InterToto
By Alex Dunn - Created on 30 Dec 2005
Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has warned his squad that it could be a busy summer for all involved at the club unless they qualify for European football.
It seems likely that City could be competing for a Uefa Cup place come the season's close but should they fail to qualify, then the InterToto Cup may beckon.
InterToto action starts in mid-June, which is a factor which has put off other managers but does not appear to have deterred Pearce.
''If it came to the end of the season and we've not automatically qualified for Europe and the InterToto Cup comes up, I can't say we won't enter the competition,'' said Pearce.
''If I feel it's right for the club and after speaking to the chairman and chief executive, we feel that it could get us into Europe, that's what we'll do.
''That's no problem, that's the nature of the game. I get paid all year round.
''My wages don't stop in the summer nor do the players' wages.''
