There is no reason this guy shouldn't be on the pitch every meaningful match

Drogba fits the Chelsea system better due to his physical nature.
Crespo is the better striker though.
It just depends on what is needed for any particular game.

I enjoy watching Crespo score those magnificent goals. I realize Drogba brings a physical elemnt to the system Crespo doesn't, but I prefer my strikers to have at least an above clumsy touch, and great finishing ability. Crespo everyday of the week and twice on sundays for me.

Plus we do not feel the need to loft some many longballs from the keeper when Drogba is on the bench, and I much prefer our build up play to the longball.

There's also that whiny diving side to Drogba that gets irritating, and whats that stat I heard? he hadn't scored ont he road int he Prem since last September?

When the game is on the line and we need a goal, it's Crepso time(hopefully).

Ill support Drogba as long as we wears the CFC badge(same for any player on any team I support), but theres always guys on my teams I just rather would not have, i.e. Kezman, Drogba, Carvalho, Tiago, Pedro Martinez, David Wells, Ricky davis, Brian Scalabrine, Alexei Zhamnov, Chris Leak, Jesper Gronkjaer....all for different reasons, not specifcally based on talent, just rather would not see them in there.

Some are gone, hopefully some will follow.

What were your problems with Tiago and Chris Leak?

Chris Leak didn't fit into Urban's spread and shred offense all that well. He did better towards the end of the season though. He really did stagnate after his 1st year.

That's an Urban Meyer problem, not a Chris Leak problem. Its like blaming Michael Vick for not being dynamic if he's been instructed not to go out of the pocket.
I've never been a big fan of college football coaches with "systems". That's why I like that Tressel has completely opened up the Ohio State offense this year. If not for an idiotic cell phone payment from a booster, OSU might be in the Rose Bowl this year. (Or a Hamby catch in the end zone. :))

I agree with you. I think the spread and shred crap doesn't cut it in the SEC. Anyway, I don't really care. I may go to UF, but UM is my team.

Miami? I was just down there last week. I can't really cheer for Miami though I have nothing against you. The complete lack of home support is terrible.

Just like my problem with Carvalho, there were players Id rather see play than Tiago, didn't completely dislike him or anything, just a little unhappy with him for minor reasons.

Its not that Leak cannot run, its that he refuses to. He has happy feet and is scared to take a hit. Id rather he left and we could have given Portis a shot, or the new kid: Tim tebow this season, but he will hold back the offense again.

I think its quite unreasonable to say the offense cannot work in the SEC. Meyer doesnt have his personnel yet, these are Zook's players. The O-Line was terrible, and that is crucial. We had a QB who wouldnt run, again, not a good barometer of how the offense can fare. Andre Caldwell's injury did not help matters either.

We beat Tennessee, UGA, FSU....our 3 biggest rivals, and Meyer currently has the best recruting class in the country(with more to come). In two years if this team has not improved, then Id be happy to say Meyer doesn't work, but last year was not a fair measure.

Crespo should request a transfer if he is not going to play with Chelsea.

How did this thread evolve into a discussion on college football?

Gee. Who was that in the lineup for us against Fulham, and who was that coming off the bench yesterday?

Are you an OSU grad nicephoras? OSU class of 1995 here. Januray 2nd will be a good day for drinking, West Ham vs Chelsea at 7:45 AM and OSU vs Notre Dame at 4:45 PM.

as long as Jose fells it's necessary to rotate strikers, and as long as we keep on winning, i'm all fine with seeing both DD and Crespo rotate.

agreed. You can not argue with winning. I too prefer Crespo but as long as we keep winning I can not argue with the system/strategery!
