Though unlike in Shazam!, only one person ever played the title character on its companion show Isis.

Oddly enough, well-renowned comic book painter Alex Ross revealed (http://www.twomorrows.com/alterego/articles/03ross.html) that the inspiration for his version (http://www.alexrossart.com/gallery/characters/dcposters/shazam.html) of Captain Marvel was actor Fred MacMurray (of "My Three Sons" fame).

She's hot! :D
(even if she's now in her 50s and supposedly is now a nurse!)

Is she now a nurse in real life or does she play one on TV (or both)?

According to her IMDB profile she's now a nurse in real life. (Where are they now feature.)
A new Captain Marvel movie is in the works. It's called "Shazam" because of the word "Marvel" (re: comics).

I can usually tell that a photo of a young lady is old either by the visual quality of the photo or (more often) simply by her hairstyle, clothing, etc. But in the case of those two Isis pics, except for the large collar in the second pic (which was generally popular in the mid-late 1970's and in the "retro 70's" early-1990's), those pics easily look like they could've been taken last week - it's hard to imagine that she's now old.

I heard that Michael Uslan is producing it (he was also the executive producer for Batman Begins (http://www2.warnerbros.com/batmanbegins/index.html). Is the movie set to hit theaters around the same time as Superman Returns (http://supermanreturns.warnerbros.com/) this coming summer?

There's also a pretty comprehensive comic book history of Captain Marvel/Shazam! here (http://www.moviepoopshoot.com/comics101/6.html). :)

-GDamn! I was working over here at the time. Didn't even know there was such a series. Captain Marvel was my favorite comic book character/hero during the 1940's. Now match that for age, Goodsport!

-GNot quite, G, not quite. I started reading the Captain Marvel comics about five years later (I was not yet able to read in 1941 nor to see movies with cognition).

That second Captain Marvel looks like he spent a bit too much time hanging around Dunkin' Donuts. ;)
And Isis was hot! :)

Damn, I didn't even know there were 2 different ones. But the only one I remembered is Bostwick. I was so young when I used to watch this. And yeah, Isis was beautiful. I'd love to watch the show again.

The real question is: who would win in a fight?
Isis...

... or King Tut from Batman?
