Firstly, look at the sale on Kitbag...they have black Legends in FG and SG in most sizes for 40 pounds!!!

No, I'm pretty sure it is because the Legend provides more support and padding for his achilles injury. :)

it could be his bum heel/tendon problem or he may have needed a new pair of vapors and nike couldnt get them out to him in time. his vapors are custom fitted and i doubt he could wear a retail pair of vapors with out problems after only a day of breaking them in unlike the legends which are prety responsive during the first wearing.

if you notice most nike legend players have legends custom done with a contrasting nike swoosh/tick henrys dont have this and he is a big time nike guy so if he was going over to legend for a regular shoe he would have this and his name/initials on the tounge.

i would guess this a a one or two matchin thing and we will see him back in the vapor 2 or 3's soon. he has his own color way coming out after the world cup in the 3's which is bright red with black trim so i know he was still scheduled to be in the vapor for the next year at least.

I must say I've actively NEVER noyticed this and am always slightly disappointed when guys wear them in colors that don't match they're strip, surely Joe Cole could get ones with blue accents done? etc etc
Also on nikeid they got a pic of blue legends with white accents, but when u click the link that colorway isn't actually an option. But then we all know about nikeid......

Yes, it did look pretty weird seeing Henry wear Legends, but as JC said, I'm pretty sure he will be wearing Vapors very soon.

Rondaldinho, RVN, Prilo, Maldini, even Fletcher have the tick on the tounge contrasting. Example the shoe is black and on the tounge the nike tick is black. On the retail store bought and non custom fitted ones its white and dosnt stand out at all. On the white and red model the custom ones have a white tick on the tounge and the store bought ones have a red that blends in and doesnt stand out. Also the pros with the custom jobs have a reflective synthetic on the tick on the sides of the boot, the tounge and the triming so it shows up better on tv.

Nike will be adding the contrasting tounge tick starting with the silver and black model legends and then keep it going through other color ways.

Joe Cole will be in the white and blue version of the legend either right before the WC or at the start of the next season.

Yes, I noticed that on an ebay auction selling Ronaldinho's White/Red Legends.

His name was also printed onto the boot, not embroidered.

I think the Black/Gold colourway on Justsocca.com also is made of that reflective material.

Well as usual, JC cleared that up! I for some reason had decided you were talking about the swoosh on the sides of the boots being custom colors, I'd been thrown because of the cheaper Nike's that look kinda like legends that are available in white/blue, as I erronoueously thought they were a new legend colorway (the price I pay for not having been on this forum for a while!) and thus couldn't figure out why players weren't wearing them! It gets to me when a pro is seen wearing one colorway (usualkly just to whore out the newest release) when the same boot is available in a better colorway for their teams strip!

Presuming Joe Cole will be wearing the blue/white's at WC time, that'll annoy me also as the ones he wears currently make better sense with the england kit. Like when Owen swopped the white/red umbro's for the greyer colorway!

A quick point about Nikeid (humble pie time): since making that last remark I've been given a custom pair of Hurache2k5 basketball kicks from nikeid which are amazing. I had no idea I was even getting them, so the wait wasn't a problem, and in honesty I wouldn't have bought the shoes in any normal colorway, but these are special!! The options on football cleats are limited, and even in the UK it's cheaper for me to get them done from the US store and shipped over (than str8 from the UK one, I know a guy that can hook me up shipping as US mainland though!), but if you do wanna get something done well, they're very good!
