Not sure why my response to this post was deleted as it took me a whiile to write and can't think how at all is was out of order? Was supposed to be informative! :)

Anyway - if someone could let me know what I did that'd be super so I don't reoffend.

I've put this here because I don't know which mod to PM.

You didn't do anything wrong, I was deleting your stalker - didn't realise I hadn't unchecked your post for deletion as well.

Oops.

very funny!

an FHM magazine, reprinted by the sun, and then on Fox!

Seriously though - he is really selling down what has been a massive media offensive by him since he took over, and very carefully organised I don't doubt. He is the number one star at chelsea in terms of the media - the biggest personality. That is the strategy - not just because he is a big mouth or because he feels like it.

for those who don't work in PR, you might find it interesting to know that like many famous people, he won't write all his own stuff. He'll have PRs for it, helping him with his approach.

The media is quite smoke and mirrors. It looks like they just sit down in front of the camera and say what comes into their heads. That is not the case, and often questions are also restricted, or have to be submitted in advance. The journos are also pre-breifed.

I think him/they have been massively succesful in all of this. But for him to say "oh yeah - I thought I'd just stand up to them" is rubbish. This is a multi multi million pound company - most aspects of their communications are carefully thought out in advance, with the ultimate goal of making more money/winning more games/raising profile.

Another e.g. of this is beckham, who has seemingly set out his stall on many aspects of the game in england these days. there is often some comment or other about Manchester United or Roy Keanes move of what have you. His people will spot those media opportunities and send out media releases, which then get printed as if the journos had spoken to Beckham for comment. the reason his people do this is to keep his name in the english media as much as possible.

Thus coming back to Mourinho, often comment "from him" is actually just a media release sent out by Chelseas PRs to the media, rather than something he has actually said.

Hmm, a Newcastle United supporter is making an Arsene Wenger joke.

What's wrong with this picture?
