I work at a Sports News Service as most of you know here in the states outside of NYC. We get alot of NHL & international Hockey from TSN, CBC & RSN regional affiliats. I went to work doing the World Cup Draw. I had to record the draw from three different networks. ESPN, Univision (Spanish Language Channel here in the States) & Rogers Sportsnet.

Once again I have to say Rogers Sportsnet hands down was the winner. Roger Millions as well as the anaylist (I forgot his name sorry) really did their homework. Both of them did a great job before the festivities as well as post draw reactions live from Germany. I never knew they actually had them in Germany live for the draw. I love Tommy Smyth from ESPN but I think they have to really step it up when it comes to the sport here in the states.

If Canada does decide to host the World Cup one summer or qualifies for it, I have no doubt that those two will do an excellent job as well as Rogers Sportsnet covering the world cup as well. I have seen them in the Gold Cup Canada coverage. Good luck with MLS Toronto.

Thank You Sir>they Are Doing There Best.

As Far As The World Cup I Think Ctv Holds The Rights.

But Sportsnet Caters To The Multiculuralism Of Canada And There Is Alot Of Soccer Fans That Follow Overseas Teams.

I Wrote To Them Saying How I Appreciated For Them To Improve Soccer In Canada And They Are Really Progressing But Now The Score Is Doing The Same Thing Which Im Surprised.

I Say Give An Applause To Rogers Sportsnet Even Though I Hate Ted Rogers.

Sportsnet was the only network with the insight to see the value of the game in this country and thankfully secireds the 06 rights altough it is importnat to note that they will be sharing it with TSN.

I also must give credit to the Score for starting up the SUnday match as I think its the best thing to hit TV here in Canada since the EPL triple header on Saturday.

Now one thing Sportsnet still has to improve on, is the Canada Mens matches. They rarely show them live which is terrible and then they will show them a week later off prime scheduling

TSN does boradcast Champions League games but that's about it.

But I have to agree, when it comes to soccer coverage, Sportsnet does a very good job.

yea thank God for sportsnet. tsn is good too for the world cup and those occasional championsleague. the score gets an applause for doing the sunday matches. i even watched the ronaldo and friends vs. zidane and friends match the other day on that channel. the only problem with sportsnet is that during the gold cup they only cover canada's matches. oh and i almost forgot TLN (the spanish channel) that covers italian matches and copa america and the world cup very nicely (courtesy of univision).

watching soccer on the score really sucks, with all those scores running at the bottom of the screen, who needs that. the best network in Canada to watch soccer is fox sports world canada, they are the best.
