Alright... in case you don't have anything else to do... I've been addicted to this flippin' music "test".
http://rawsharkrecords.tripod.com/band.xls
Go ahead and try it... it's addictive! What's embarassing about it, however, are the groups that you actually DO know of... like "Backstreet Boys", "Right Said Fred" or... gulp... "All Saints". But it's cross continent with bands from all over. Some are obvious but dammit, I'm struggling wiht this one. :D Some are very obvious while others you're like... "Damn, who the hell were they?"

My bad... for not checking this earlier...

Try that link but then click on the preceeding link. It's a music quiz with about 120+ bands on it from different ages. It was actually pretty fun. Hard but fun.

Very cool test. What do you need help with? I got only 98 points going through once. I'm particularly proud of getting Haircut 100 and The Communards immediately upon seeing them. Or should I be embarrassed?
Hmmm...

I got 72.
We should build a collective list until they're all identified.

151, and that's without All Saints or Haircut 100.
My favorite obscure answers are Level 42 and The Commodores. And it took about 20 minutes to think of Crazy Town.
Edit - up to 154. Damn Peter Murphy...

So I got to 159, and after writing "Spinal Tap" in about six of them I'm going to sleep. A few that are bugging me:
12. Holy Jesus, that hitler 'stache is just creepy.
81. Get a room, guys.
82. Isn't that Stillwater from the movie Almost Famous?
132. Who invited the white guy on the right? Is he the accountant?
222. That's Sisqo, Jodeci, and the other one -- what was their original group's name?
264. You can't convince me that's not Flaming Lips.

I got this a while ago from a friend (I've got 105 correct so far), but haven't looked at it in a while. I've been trying to figure out who 81 is. I thought it was Air Supply, but it's not.

Apologies in advance for editing my esteemed co-Mod's posts, but . . .
I put in result tags for all the band names, so that folks who stumble in here can still do the whole thing from scratch.
Obie, feel free to overrule.
I got 109 on my first pass. Difficulty factor: Child on lap.
Oh and how the hell is 83 not The Traveling Wilbury's and 191 not B-52's ?

The spelling needs to be exact. Try The Travelling Wilburys and The B52s. They worked for me.

Hah! I kept guessing Tap on a bunch of them as well. Another name I kept trying was Spandau Ballet, but I was wrong every time.
Where the hell's Footix? I wanna hear his score.
