Welcome back! Hope you had a great trip.
'Twas very family oriented. Lots of time with kids and in-laws, but I did get a good afternoon of x-country in and a day of telemark on the mountain. I should have worn hockey skates though...it was brutally icy!!

I want to take a road trip to NYC! :( I have not been to the city since I was about 12.......took the Circle Line tour! Yippie! Need to go shopping and partying in the city soon me thinks! :D

LOL...that year-end bonus has up and flown away, like 2005.
sunday night was crazy. started drinking at around 5 pm, had dinner at Hofbrauhaus (yes, with giant beers) and went to the Hard Rock. that's when it all gets fuzzy. im pretty sure we went to the OG, Paradise, CH2, sheesh, it's kinda scary when i think about it. ended up at this place called **********cats on spring mountain road. hehe. and i seriously woke up the next day, looked in my wallet, and thought "damn. no snack attacks today. need that $$$ for gas."
HA HA! That happened to me in April...left the OG at 2:30 to catch a shuttle to the airport for a six AM flight and had barely enough money for the shuttle ride..I mean, I had about a $1.50 left when I got to the airport! And i had a huge backpack on...I looked like some sort of deranged, drunk, desert rat in the terminal!

Yep skiing..if you can call it that...others would call it skating down steep mountains with very long ice skates on

Well I may not be able to talk the hubby in to this one quite yet........he still looks at me like I have grown 2 heads for planning the Chicago road trip...... :p
But it would be fun especially since I now know what the MMA is!

The OG rules, i've had some really good times at that place. *sigh*
My buddy I was there with was convinced that, for the second year in a row, he was going to get one of the girls to go back to his hotel room with him..he stayed there for another three hours after I left..and struck out...and someone stole all the cash out of his wallet for his troubles!
The moral of the story? Just pay the girls, then move on!! :D

My dad would take us to the Met Museum every year to see the Christmas tree, so it's something really special to me.

sweet. never been skiing before. not many places to ski in IL.
But you could go to Boyne like everyone else in the midwest?? I "learned" to ski at Pine Knob in MI...an inverted landfill, basically!! LOL! To think that since then I've lived in Sun Valley, Boulder and near Telluride...I think of that cute little pimple of a mountain and smile.
Its a pricey past-time, unfortunately...thats why I converted to tele so I could walk for my turns sometimes.

traffic was insane driving back. it took us about 2 hours to get to the state line - nrmally it's a half hour drive. total travel time was 7 hours. normal LA-LV ride is in the order of 3.5 hours.

You're smart...they charge basically the same for dinky mountains or huge ones. Boyne charges almost $50 for an adult weekend lift ticket...Vail is $80 for a mountain about 10x the size of Boyne.

Again I question the fun of strip clubs-all that money spent for nothing but being able to look at the "goods"........well in Vegas prostitution is legal so I guess that for the right price you might be able to do more than look....again all that money to just look? Rent some porn in the room......... ;) Save the cash for gambling....but I could be way off......could be that you guys score with strippers all the time and don't share the details with us! :D
