Sadly, yes. (Note: Credit to Utah for playing well and deserving the win.) It was Tech's worst post season loss and the most points the defense has given up since '03. I've said all along that I can handle losing to truly better teams and don't expect 10-1 every year. That being said, yesterday's outing was pathetic. So much so that I've already sent in the following letter:

Well said. Despite the fact that I went to undergrad 70 miles east....;) .....I don't "hate" Tech and have several very good friends who went there. As an aside, I notice that you were Arch 92. One of my best friends was CE 92....not that it's a big school or anything.....

Anyway, I feel for you and would have to agree that Gailey just doesn't seem to be the answer for you guys. I don't know what Braine was thinking giving him a new contract.

awesome. have you booked yet? we haven't. i'm going to call JIm and tell him if i don't hear from him by monday i'm booking on my own and he can as well. I have no problem going to London by myself.

if you don't go to Amsterdam there are some lower league matches on the 31st

I don't know what Braine was thinking giving him a new contract. It's hard to believe this is the same guy that found Paul Hewitt. Gailey's a nice man, has connections to the pro game, knows the south... I can only assume Braine truly is so content with the idea that Tech will (his words, paraphrased) "not consitently win 9 - 10 games a year" that he sees no need to aim higher.

Thanks for the sympathy. As for your CE friend, Tech is comparably small (13K undergrad, most ME or EE). If that C is for Civil I might know them.

Or seen them across the plaza once...

my buddy dom has a sister in london; we are staying with her. so far the plan is to chill in london until the 2nd, go to dam 2-3 and birm on the 4th. we are down for a game on the 31st (any games that you are interested in?). we have not finalized our amsterdam plans so those days could be flexible. we will arrive 8am on the 31st.

QPR v Leicester City and Fulham v Spurs have caught my eye.

there is a full sleight of games on the 31st so there will be lots in London, but I'd love to go to a QPR match.

here are the fixtures for the 31st:

Premiership:

Charlton v West Brom, 19:45
Fulham v Tottenham, 20:00
Liverpool v Birmingham, 19:45
Portsmouth v Bolton, 19:45
Sunderland v Middlesbrough, 19:45
Wigan v Everton, 19:45

Championship:

Brighton v Burnley, 19:45
Cardiff v Millwall, 19:45
Hull v Coventry, 19:45
Ipswich v Leeds, 19:45
Plymouth v Southampton, 19:45
Preston v Crystal Palace, 19:45
QPR v Leicester, 19:45
Reading v Norwich, 19:45
Sheff Wed v Luton, 19:45
Watford v Crewe, 19:45
Wolverhampton v Stoke, 19:45

League 1:

Swansea v Gillingham, 19:45

League 2:

Bristol Rovers v Leyton Orient, 19:45
Northampton v Wycombe, 19:45

Charlton v West Brom is another one. I'm thinking more Lower league games might be moved to the 31st because of the FA Cup 4th round being on the saturday before and if all those teams have matches scheduled, so if they are in the 4th round then the league match has to be moved.

what day are you getting to London?

don't think the 'Dam is in my plans. i'd rather just chill in london and go to a lower league match on tuesday night. and you are correct, no B'ham away. I'm leaving on the 3rd.

Jim has not responed to any of my emails or text messages about how much he is willing ot pay on airfare and hotel.

Jim (Gunners11) has neither responded to my texts or PM asking for full payment. I told people I wouldn't be shy to put names up. It's gone on long enough.

I asked for payment for West Ham. At the 3RD PM he hadn't responded, so I asked Dan to give me his Mobile number. I texted him and got a message back saying he may not be able to make it. No offence - I don't give a fcuking sh1t. He asked for a ticket and should damm well pay for it. He sent £44.50 through paypal when I asked him to send £47.50 He didn't add any paypal fee's so I have received a total of £42.56 I know it's a small amount, but why the hell should I have to lose that money for someone who asked for a ticket and put it on the ticket thread. I sent him a PM asking for the rest to which he hasn't responded. Yet he has been on the site numerous times. The last excuse was too much Uni work..........

Anyone who thinks I am being out of order putting this - let me know, maybe it is a bit harsh. But I had to wait a full 3 weeks from paying for the tickets to the money getting to my account and then it wasn't enough.

I'm bummed... the place downtown i wanted to go for New Years Eve is sold out, now i have to figure out a plan B. It won't be that bad though, all i need is somewhere to sit down and have some drinks, but i'd like to do it someplace really cool.
