View Full Version : Flock and Shiira web browsers

Does anyone use them?
I've been trying out Flock (http://www.flock.com) on my PC at work for a little while and it's ok. I hate that they don't have a Bookmarks feature, instead they've got something set up with del.icio.us. I do like their bloggin and flickr integration though. It's available for PC and Mac.
Shiira (http://hmdt-web.net/shiira/en) on the other hand is solely for the Mac and has taken over Safari as my primary browser. The thing is amazing.

So, Dante, what's your preference between Firefox and Shiira for Mac?

As per the web site, it's still in beta form, yes?
I listened to an interview with one of their guys and I'm going to give a go for sure, but even he noted in the interview that its better to wait until they wheel out the full version.

Yeah, flock is, but if you browse their boards you'll see that they want to do something different and aren't too keen on adding the bookmark feature like other browsers. That's the biggest thing holding me back on the PC. I don't want to go to some website to choose a link, I've got A LOT of links and it's much more convenient to have a drop down menu.

I'll take Shiira, I really really like it.
I just downloaded it and it looks ok.
Like Safari, It doesn't seem to have a very good download manager. Because of that I can't open Citrix applications properly. I won't bore you with the details but as that is a major part of my job its it puts a bit of a dampener on it.
Also, I use a PC at work I would prefer to use the same broswer on PC and Mac.
I'll stick with Firefox for now but am always open to new ideas. I've been keeping an eye on Flock for a while and will try it out once its completed its beta testing.
Is there one killer aspect of Shiira that really sells it to you?
