There is room for more carriers of La Championnat in the U.S. than just TV5. Last year, TV5 only showed the game from TPS. There are two games on Canal+ every week, that FSW picked up later in the season.

How does one purchase this so-called tv5, which satellite providers offer it and so on? i've never heard of this strange station but it sounds real nice.

I'm still confused about FSW carrying games. Is Canal+ carrying any games this season? Does this mean that FSW will pick up the Canal+ games? Or is TV5 the sole carrier?

Canal + will continue to carry L1 matches this season in France. Canal + distributes matches through TV5 and TV5 also carries "Jour du Foot" which is another Canal + program. It seems as though TV5 is the primary distributor for L1 in North America this season. Not sure how this effects FSW but I'm hoping that they'll to show L1 @ some point this season.

TV5 gets its game from TPS.
Last season, Fox Sports World got the games from Canal+.
This season, no one is distributing Canal+ games yet.

there is only one place in the U.S. you can watch Guingamp x Lyon and Marseilles x Nantes on 1ere journee. And they weren't broadcasted by any channels available in the U.S.

I stand corrected on the L1 distribution on TV5 in regards to Canal +. At the moment TPS has the deal w/ TV5 as you mentioned and nothing's been announced in regards to Canal +. So, hopefully, they'll provide the feed to FSW this season.
A+
Toujours PSG!!!!!!

Thanks for the info, guys.
I'm hoping that at the very least, FSW will pick up the Canal+ fixtures in mid-season like they did last year. Last season, I got hooked on Le Championnat due to FSW, and I want to continue to get my fix this season.

So the Championnat is not the Premier League or La Liga.. it is still the league that always seems to have the most unpredictability and the league I enjoy watching the most. I am already going through withdrawls, I hope FSW picks up the ball mid season or something, cause I don't get TV-5 (though I wish I did because it has a laot of good french programming from france, canada, belgium, switzerland and africa and is a top notch channel). Please FSW, do the right thing!!

I'm still wondering why they stopped calling it Le Championnat...
Hopefully FSW will pick up something. Whether it's French, Nationwide, or Saudi I don't care! :)

I'd like to see the Turkish League just because I have an interest in that country and its football. Yes.. I agree pick up something, anything at this point. EPL, Bundesliga and Eredivsie is not enough. They also show Argentine games, but those tend to get late sunday timeslots, while Brazil and Scotland get weeknight slots. There is an opening for a fourth league on the weekend slots.

The Eredivisie is gone though!
I would also love to see the Super Lig. Turkey has some of the most passionate fans in the world and the incredible Istanbul derbies.

If you are willing to spend $39.95 per month, you can get three Turkish games per week IN THE UNITED STATES!!!
Last weekend they were:
Trabzonspor x Fenerbahce,
Bursaspor x Besiktas,
Galatasaray x Samsunspor
This coming weekend will be:
Denizli x Galatasaray,
Besiktas x Kocaeli,
Fenerbahce x Anksaragucu
Basically, Gala, Fener and Besiktas are featured every week.
What channel are these games on?

Why did they drop the Eredivise as well?? FSW is only showing three european leagues this fall?? That is pathetic. I was not the biggest Eredivise fan.. but I enjoyed the games and this is yet another blow to FSW soccer coverage.
