Just saw the commercial. It appears to be some sort of drama series, based on an English football club. They say its a big hit in the UK. Anyone care to explain the story line?

I sure hope not. I love that FSW focusses most of its programming on soccer, but the important thing is that it SHOWS the games-many of them-often repeatedly.
I just don't want FSW to go the route of ESPN and MTV, by programming whatever appeals to the demographic that happens to watch the channel, rather than what it initially intended to show.
If this turns out to be what it sounds like, I may have to send an e-mail their way, requesting another game rerun or FSW Report rather than a drama series.

On the positive side at least the"Dream Team" is not a reality show about Swindon Town.

I didn't see the ad but I will assume its the same show i'v heard about from a freind who seen it. He told me about it like 4 months ago when he went there.
He said it had little to do about football. It's based on a made up football team in the Premiership. It's mostly behind the sceens type of stuff, like what President has to do and how they pick 15 and 16 year old kids to play in youth systems and stuff. It has some real players in it i bielive he said Dennis Wise is in it once in a while. Also it looks at what players do outside of the sport and stuff like that.
He said he liked it and got into it so i donno, i guess its a good show but hes kinda weird so we'll see. hehe
I hope that helps a lil.

Here is a link to the IMDB page:

It's a soap opera, made for Sky One, and has been airing in the UK since 1997. Nearly 100 cast members are listed in the credits but I don't recognize any of the names (not that I'd expect to). Some of the game footage was shot at Millwall.
Eight people have reviewed the show at IMDB, all very enthusiastically.
Here's a link to the production company's site:

i saw this when i was over last summer... its
amazing how much you could get hooked on it...
at least its better than the energyx fellas...
i would rather FSW spend their money on the
Nationwide league games... but as opposed
paid commercials..... ill take it...

What? You don't think that soccer fans love made-for-tv melodramas? ;)
Actually, they could be trying to exploit the anglophile angle.
