Flying into Frankfurt?

I am flying out of FT. Myers to frankfurt and Staying in Heidelburg. Any one else staying out there? I will be traveling with the whole clan. Me the wife and our 2 kids. Hoing to meet up with everyone at the games. How early should we get there for the games? Also what is the best way to travel to Prague?

My wife and I and 2 friends are also flying out of Ft Myers, on Condor, leaving the 8th. I know there is at least one other fan on that flight. Are you on this one?

4 of us are landing in Frankfurt on the 12th at 11:10 am from Chicago (American Airlines #84)...should we be getting our train ticket before we arrive?

It is very, very close to the airport. IIRC there is a gas station there that I used to use to refuel before returning rental cars (Esso, Euro-version of Exxon). Not exactly a happening place, but good for getting to the airport in the a.m.

May not be a bad idea, but not absolutely required. If the train is full you might have to stand, but if you can get an ICE train up then you can go in the club car and drink beer on the way to the stadium. And lots of ICE trains make a quick airport stop before heading out towards the Dortmund area.

I find currently:

1) 1 pm ICE 126 changing in Duisburg to RE 10221 arriving Gelsenkirchen at 3:23 pm.
2) 1:26 ICE 1028 direct into Gelsenkirchen arrives 3:53 pm
3) Third option available out at 1:44 but lots of connections and not worth it.

There are some similar options you can use at 2 and 2:45 pm in case you are somehow running late, but that 1:26 should be ideal and takes you straight into town, with plenty of time to clear customs/immigration, get your bags, get lost in the airport, slight flight delays, etc. Usually want to reserve a seat on the ICE trains (and possibly any long haul trains during the Cup?) but if you have to take a later train your ticket should still be valid you just won't have a reserved seat.
