Yes. My wife and I will be on that flight, so long as the flight out of BWI isn't late.

Fingers crossed then: I'll be on the same flight, arriving from Boston just about an hour earlier.

Shouldn't be hard to make the next flight, as there's only one terminal and it's a small airport.

Maybe. There are four(?) different sections and IIRC you have to pass through security independently for each. I expect it likely they have to switch from A/B/C/D on that. Might be a little hustle involved.

Finally got tickets booked today. Flying United from Boise to Chicago to Frankfurt arriving @ 5:45 AM on the 11th. Anyone else gonna be there at the crack of Dawn?
We arrive in Frankfurt on the 11th at 7:00 local time. I usually do fine with little sleep (as long as I don't have a hangover), but I'm not sure how my body will react to landing in Frankfurt at 1:00 AM ET. After landing, we get a car and immediately drive south from Frankfurt. I have a feeling I'm going to be a little slow that first day. Of course, the hotel probably won't allow us to check in until later in the afternoon.
Any tips for adjusting to the time? I'm thinking we might hit the sack "early" (before midnight local time) the first night we're there.

Generally, I find it works to not sleep on the plane, stay hydrated, not drink, and then go to sleep early the first night.
My brother is arriving at roughly the same time on Delta from ATL.

We are doing roughly the same thing except we are renting a car and heading north to Cologne. Have taken a red eye flight to Europe before and all I can say is stay up as long as you possible can that first day, try to get to bed at a normal time the first night and it make the adjustment a lot easier. I usually can't sleep on planes so it make it a little more difficult for me. Whatever you do don't fall asleep that afternoon.

I'll probably try to stay up for the hop from Boston to Iceland, then catching some shut-eye from Keflavik to Frankfurt.

Having taken a flight from Boston to Paris and then on to Venice back in September (honeymoon!), I tried to nap on the plane over the atlantic, but it was mostly for naught.
I was exhausted by the time I got to Venice and ended up going to sleep around 9:00 pm local time. I was fine after that.
The key on the long transatlantic flight is to stay hydrated and get uo and walk around every couple of hours or so to keep the blood flowing.

Just get hammered at the airport bar, pass out for the entire plane ride, and when you wake up it'll be morning in Germany.

This works a little differently for different folks. Conventional wisdom says to set your "body clock" to Germany time as soon as you can. This means eating meals on the flight at Germany time, going to sleep on Germany time, etc. In reality this can be a bit difficult (meals on flights, movies, etc. are done on departure, not arrival time, sort of). Also you should not sleep on arrival and then try to stay up somewhat "late" on arrival, even if your body wants to crash in the middle of the afternoon.
If you do sleep early you will probably wake up in the early morning in a strange town in Germany with nothing to do. This is because your body will be thinking you just took a nap when in reality you want a full night's sleep.
What works best for me:
1) I set my clock ahead as soon as I start my journey. Some trips I even start to go to sleep earlier, if possible, several days before my trip and wake up very early, maybe 4-5 am.
2) I try to eat dinner Germany time and do other things that I would do before bed as early as possible. But most of my flights leave out pretty late, so it's not always practical to be exactly on schedule. I do ask the flight attendants not to wake me and ask me if I want to eat, or try to get them to serve me ahead of schedule. This last bit is not likely to happen in coach but they'll usually accomodate you in Business or 1st Class. So you can bring a sandwich or something or get dinner in the airport before your flight if the timing is appropriate.
I also will use Ambien as a sleep aid if I can get it. This is still prescription iirc so you should talk to a doctor about whether it's appropriate. Some people swear by the stuff and others hate it.
3) I sleep very lightly so if I don't get Ambien I usually wake up way before I should (ideally the end of the flight if it's a morning arrival, which is almost all the time inbound to Europe).
4) At that point I get to or near my first hotel and find something simple to do just to keep me awake. If I can check in early, then I sometimes will take a 30-60 minute power nap. The shorter the better. Anything longer throws off my sleep cycle. Sometimes I find I can't sleep and then I just lay there, quietly, for that time.
5) Go out, eat lunch, even if I'm not hungry. Find something to keep you awake. Walking around and checking out the city is a good idea. If you're not moving around then find a relatively crowded, noisy space to hang out in.
6) Stay awake until at least 10 pm but not too late. Anything after midnight on the first night and you've probably thrown off your sleep cycle again.
7) Second morning wake up at a normal time for you. I do adjust this for pleasure versus business travel. If I'm on business that might mean 6 am, if pleasure then maybe 8-9 am, later if I expect to be out late a lot.
At that point I'm usually good to go for the trip. Note that everybody is going to have a somewhat different reaction to a time change, from none to huge. Some people have more trouble going, some coming back. So don't give your partner grief when she is lagging on the first day and you're not, because it could come back to bite you in the butt. And bear in mind that Europe if fairly "easy" compared to travelling to Australia or the Far East. Last time to Thailand kicked my butt.*
*Probably because I was good and got in at straight after dinner every night instead of hanging out late, shooting pool and drinking.

I'm thinking the flights into Germany are all going to be packed with soccer fans. I may try to get a "Here we go, here we go" chant started as the plane starts picking up speed down the runway :D

I enjoy the process of arriving at a hangover. I really do. But nearing 36 years of age, it's the morning after that I don't like. Last Saturday, I stayed out until 2:30 AM shooting pool with a couple of friends. My wife woke me up the next morning wanting me to finish some yard work. I walked around most of the day with that dry mouth and sore head feeling. Just getting myself ready for Germany. :D

Except it'll be more like: "Hey, this isn't Germany! It's the Sahara desert, and there's camel sh*t in my mouth, and I'm dying like a dried up rat turd!"
Then you find a nice cafe, have a Weisbeir and *poof* your in heaven...
See how that works? :D
