I think the DC game shows that general Columbus fans:
A) have voices
B) are willing to use them
C) if given the proper direction.
The NE has been sounding great. What ever happened - you guys have been getting it together as of late. It seems that once you guys got together, the team started playing better. Now - you need to infect the rest of the stadium. Imagine everybody who yelled "Lets" "Go" "Crew" yelling "Oh when the crew..."
What ever strides you have made with Management - keep them up.
In the long run, it will be key to get the voice in the sky "Mr Announcer Dude" to give a little direction to the crowd in combination with the NE. At least for several games. Then the crowd will feel . . . authorized to chant/yell.
Imagine if the words - "oh when the crew" are on the jumbotron and Mr. Vox in the sky is leading the chant. (just for the first couple of games).
The key is to have a trigger - music in the backgroud - it will most likely have to come from yes the scoreboard. The first couple of bars from the song. This audible cue/trigger will let the rest of the stadium know when to chant and what to chant. For the first couple of times, the Announcer might have to lead the chant - but after several games - the announcer should stop leading and just let the music be the triger - the NE can then take over the "caller" possition and thus leading the chant. The rest of the stadium is alerted to the chant by the intro music - while the NE is alerted to the fact that it needs to call the chant by the music.
SYNERGY!!!!
Anyway just a long winded idea that just might work! Proof is in the "Lets" "Go" "Crew" pudding.
