I hope this becomes a law.
I'm sick of seeing the brazilian teams getting dismembered.

But could he possibly overpower the G-14? ;)of course he can. g14 is nothing compared to fifa. only the olympic committee are more powerful in sports then fifa. and even that might be up for debate.

I'm betting the Brazilian players don't want this to become law.

I think it´s a great thing, for everyone. It´s good to the european NTs, now there´ll be more chances for its own players to play in the major clubs (like italians playing in AC Milan, Juventus; english ones playing in Chelsea and Arsenal), it´s good to the south americans teams, that´ll be able to retain at least some of its best players, and it´s good for supporters from both sides (Europeans having more of its blood playing in its teams, bringing a greater approach/identification and SAs able to see its best players playing in its own leagues).

As a matter of fact, there are many brazillian players coming back from Europe now

I would think it might make several leagues more competitive within themselves also.. Maybe even Scotland... ;)
But if it's a great thing it likely has little chance of happening... :o

They won't at first.
But more quality players in Brazil, brings to more money involved (attendence, tv ratings ...), which brings to more money to the players.

thats not whats gonna happen. what will happen is the smaller european teams will get better brazilian players. instead of the top teams having 3-4-5 of them (read: real madrid).

im not a chelsea fang but it seems to me old sepp enjoys having a dig at them regularly. i dotn however agree with limiting foreign players on squads. if this is the worlds game then lets try to act like it.

well... I can't see anything wrong w/ Euro clubs having no more than 4 non-euro players and the same being done elsewhere.

you wanna increase the limit on non-euro players? its three at the moment.

We already have rules that limit the number of non-eu foreigners.
FIFA certainly can’t forbid any eu citizen to work anywhere in the eu.
Many S. Americans are also able to get EU passports through ancestry.
FIFA can’t do anything about that either. They can’t tell countries who they should give citizenships to.

True and here in MLS (foreign limits) too but this would make it "universal" for all FIFA sanctioned leagues which would be a change, and force changes, in many leagues..

FIFA certainly can’t forbid any eu citizen to work anywhere in the eu..sure they can. theyll just make a rule that countries that dont have a law in their league system that does limit non domestic players cant participate in the world cup. then itd be done.

It wouldn’t stand in court.
If it could they would have done it long ago.

what court? teams are invited to participate in the world cup. theres no law that says you have a right to try and qualify. fifa can exclude whatever nation they want at any time.
