I don't live in Amerkey so can't say much about your brands. But you need to research wireless routers. I'm sure other here can help you.
No answer to my gif question :(
What is a router? Is that the same thing as a modem?

You should plug your cable into a wireless router which will broadcast your connection throughout your place. The put a wireless modem on your computer and you're all set.

*knock at the bathroom door*
VR: I'm almost finished.
Mrs. VR: I just need to brush my teeth.
VR: Just a minute.
Mrs. VR: Please unlock the door.
VR: I just need a minute.
Mrs. VR: (Exasperated). Fine. By the way, have you seen the laptop?

I'm moving into a new place in a few weeks and the room I want to set my computer up in does not have a cable outlet. I want to continue using my broadband from Comcast, so the way I see it I have two options: 1. Pay for the cable company to install a new outlet if possible. 2. Pay for wireless internet. Here's the problem - my desktop computer is not equipped for wireless and I have no idea what I need or how much it would cost to make it able to get wireless internet. Anyone know anything about it??
As someone who has done this a few times before, here you go:
First off, you may want to see how much the new outlet may cost, it's possible that it costs less.
If you do want to go with the wireless deal, then you will need to purchase a wireless router (Linksys has some good ones, you can usually get one for less than $100) as well as a wireless card in install into your computer (again, I'd go with Linksys, and they are less than the router). After that, it's pretty much done.
The only real drawback is the cost of the wireless stuff (figure $125-200) and the fact that if the router is real far away or there's a lot of interference between it and your computer, the speed may take a hit.
The up side is that you can pretty much move your computer anywhere you want (laptops are great with a wireless connection).
Hope this helps!

DS, do you see a red square when a page with gifs loads? What browser are you on?

Maxthon and I see the image, it just doesn't animate. Like when the Van Persie gif was up all I saw was him going for a shot, didn't know what all the fuss was about until I right clicked the image and viewed if from my hard drive.

So has it been going on for a while or just happenned? Did you try clearing out your temporary internet files?
EDIT: are you using zonealarm or any other type of firewall?

I turned my firewall off to see if it made a difference. No change.
I can't even remember when it happend because I didn't actively search for gifs until one time there a gif thread and I noticed none of the gifs were moving
I'll try emptying my temp i-net folder.

Does anyone know how to take an animated gif off imageshack, resize it, and still have it animate?
I save the gif to my desktop to resize, but then it doesn't animate and I can't resize it. :(

This looks like it should work, but it's refusing to load the image. I've tried to paste the URL link and get it off my hard-drive, but it keeps saying the file isn't available.

Alright, I just downloaded uTorrent an hour ago, and I'm confused on some things. First, what is the difference between dowloading and uploading. Two, why is it going so slow (I'm getting about .5 kb/Sec). :( Finally, the file is 12 GB. Is there any chance of the thing ever finishing at the current rate, because if not I'm going to quit right now.
Edit: Oh, and can I stop the download at night to shut down my computer and restart at the same spot in the morning?

Uh, downloading is getting something, uploading is sending something. You might wanna brush up on a few terms there. ;)

What are you downloading? Generally, files will start out slow and then as you connect to seeds and peers (people who you can download from), the speed will increase. The more popular a file is, the faster it can go. But if you're downloading something obscure, it might go slower.
Edit: Oh, and can I stop the download at night to shut down my computer and restart at the same spot in the morning?
Yeah, though most torrent clients have a "pause" feature to do it the proper way.
