Yes.. what he said. I don't burn any dvds as I'm a cheap bastard and don't have a DVD burning on my computer.

Actually.. I do. Wow I'm suprised. I'll have to make DVDs of the Office now.

You should be able to burn the DVDs no matter if it is avi. I believe I can.. now VCD's are a different story. You do have to have it in a certain format and it is a sonofabitch to change them. It takes a long time at least (the length of the video plus some).

I use VSO's ConvertXtoDvd whenever I want to convert any file format to dvd.

I've been downloading a movie for over 24 hours, and now I'm stuck at 95% complete and 20 mbs away from being done. It says that I have 30 seeds and 60 peers, yet I haven't had connections with any of them for a few hours and am downloading nothing. Strangely enough, I'm uploading Futurama just fine. What gives? Is there anyway I can force my way onto a download or something? I seriously don't want to have a useless 95% of a movie that I can't watch.

Nothing you can really do. Is there a queue or anything in your downloads?

What do you mean by queue? That movie is the only thing I have active now, as I stopped uploading Futurama to see if that would do anything. I have no connections with anyone now and am not downloading or uploading anything on this movie.

Nevermind.. sometimes when you download more than 3 things (or wotever you set it to) it will queue (sp???) up and going from highest priority to lowest. Was just checking.

Some programs you can 'force download' I'm not sure what it does, but something along the lines of forcing the seeds to let you access it or something like that. I'm not really sure.. can you do that?

I just pushed the button for 'force start', which I'm assuming is the same thing. I'll update you if anything happens.

Still no activity. How the ******** do I get to 95% percent and then stop?!?! :(

OK, I downloaded Azureus and picked up the downloading of the movie there. All of a sudden, I'm getting ALOT more activity and should be done within an hour. Does anyone know if my school possibly could have shut down my uTorrent program but doesn't recognize the Azureus program yet? It would seem like they would shut down my connection completely if they had a problem with my downloading. This is the only explanation I can think of from the sudden pick-up in the activity after switching programs though.

The only way thats possible is if the two programs use different ports (defaultly) to torrentize (new word). IF that happened.. perhaps maybe the school didn't like that port getting so much activity and shut it down. But I think I'm just pulling that out of my ass. I don't think its possible, easily, and I would figure they would just shut you down all together and tell you to go talk to the dean or soemthing.

Alright, my movie downloaded in RAR files. Does anybody know of a program that will play those? VLC wouldn't. This is getting highly frustrating.

Are you seriously that compilliterate? RAR files are like ZIP files, you have to extract them to get the real file inside. Download WinRAR to do that.

I just tried that before you answered and it ********ed my computer up. Now when I go to where I have the files, it gives me one of those "send the report on the error" things like you get with Internet Explorer when it has to close a window.

WinRAR did that? I doubt it. Doesn't do that to me. Where did you download it from?

I just uninstalled it and restarted my computer, and now that error isn't popping up. Where should I get WinRAR? And what should I do with it once I have it?

download.com has safe downloads. And once you have WinRAR, double click on the file you downloaded and it will show the contents of it, extract them to your desktop or another folder, and then you will be good to go.
