Sort of the Barry Sanders argument? All flash, no efficiency?
I suppose that's what they'd say. Again, I know very little about the NFL, but alot of my friends do not doubt Vick's talent, they just think either the offense needs to be totally re-vamped to work to his strengths, or Schaub needs to start.

Vick should not be benched. trade him if you (atl) don't want to go in 'his' direction anymore.

What direction would that be, the "no ********ing good" direction?

I didn't watch last nights game.
however, I can't imagine the reason the falcons have under performed is vick's fault.
crumpler is a great tight end but that's it, he's just a tight end.
tj ducket and what's his name as a duo running back core? that screams *yawn*

Love to do a two-step on a certain football manager's face today....

I'm just getting tired of the NFL tapping him as one of their marquee players when he's done absolutely nothing. I honestly think his brother is a better quarterback.

he is a horrible passer, and makes bad decisions....
a fantastic runner though. they would be better off using him as a tailback and putting schaub in at QB.
i am just thinking outloud, so i am prolly wrong.

TJ Duckett ran the ball on 3rd & 1 and was stopped for a loss of like half a yard. Then on 4th & 1 they give the ball to him again and he was tackled for another loss, around 1.5 yards. bad play calling by the Falcons

Vick's an electric athlete but not a great passing QB. It's not his arm but his head, as he's never been involved in a complete passing game before. Sure, he can be a pocket passer... when he has open receivers and no need to run. But when the Falcons encounter defenses like the past few weeks, wherein they're offenses must become more dynamic to break containment by the ends and linebackers, well, they don't have the horses to do it. Better receivers might help, but I'm unsure about Vicks ability to read the D, reassess the offensive options, and then run through all the options on each play. Let alone rely on that for an entire game.
It also doesn't help that the Falcons D is hurting along the line and at corner. It wouldn't have helped too much last night, but for the Green Bay and Tampa games the Falcons made the other team look like world beaters. Shaub could do much better, but without a better receiving corps and defense the Falcons won't be winning any Super Bowls. I'm just hoping the Indianapolis Colts don't either. That franchise shouldn't exist.
Falcons are what they are, a team of above average athletes but not very deep and not complete in terms of valuable weapons. Not unlike my GT.

Not unheard of. Falcons do their best jub running with a spread offense and Vick or Dunn using their speed. They tried to use Duckett in power running sets, but a) the Falcons don't have the line for it, b) the Bears have the perfect line to counter it, and c) Duckett's lost somewhere in between the measures of speed and power needed to really do the job, a la The Bus.

pretty much. Millen should have been gone a long long time ago.

I think you are wrong.
At tech, esp in 1999, he had a great all around team. his passing was sharp (for a young collegian)...I saw him wrist flick many balls 50 - 70 yards to Andre Davis for TD's. surround him with talent and he'll flourish.
However, he's the first to admit that his passing could be stronger...

pretty much. Millen should have been gone a long long time ago.
From the Free Press:
"Team president Matt Millen shouldn't be back, in the opinion of many. The Lions have suffered through five consecutive seasons with double-digit losses under Millen, who has gone 20-58 since owner William Clay Ford hired him in 2001. A "Fire Millen" movement began two weeks ago, when fans chanted and held up signs at Ford Field during a 21-16 loss to Minnesota."
And this from the game report, not a columnist.

You could have said that about Kordell Stewart too but he went from QB to "Slash" to nothing in just four/five years?

c'mon man...the phact you even suggested Kordell is on the same page as Vick is preposterous.
I'm going to pretend that didn't happen.
carry on.
