Bighorn and Gunners11 are at the game. My Dad commented while leaving the Globe that he would probably see people tailgating when he passed SF on Lake Shore, and this was at 12:30.

Kyle Orton might just be the worst QB in the NFL.

This is a Monday, to be sure. On top of the ugly news abound the sports pages I'm groggy from a late night and busy weekend of parenting sick kids, and as I type my boss and an associate (they've known each other for 20+ years) are down the hall have an "elevated conversation." I'm not one for closing my door but this is pretty uncomfortable.

Wonder if there's anything that needs my attention outside of the office.

Monday. :( I have a damn head cold and my sinuses are killing me! Also, it wasn't the best of weekends sports-wise in the Cam household. Oh well, at least it is a short week this and next week! Hopefully we get our crimbo bonuses soon so I can buy my wife a pressie!

Our boss already divvied out the traditional Christmas "bonus" here: Ham.

Seriously. Part of his shmoozing means he knows the head of most every major local business, and some time before I showed up he'd begun to call on the local meat packer to provide everyone with a 12lb +/- ham for their Christmas dinner. I guess it's nice, in a reformed Scroogian kind of way, though we barely have the room for it in our fridge.

If he's offering products I'd prefer something in a reisling, or some rum maybe. And seeing as they're still at it down the hall I could use some right now. :o

And sorry about the head cold, Cam. Perhaps a drink or two for you as well?

I'm amazed at these companies and their stupid Christmas bonuses. Instead of giving money, or time off (things valuable to employees), they give friggin' hams or 'wear jeans on Friday' cards. They treat adults like special needs kids.

I'd rather not have anything than a ham.

'wear jeans on Friday' cards.

 Is this for real? Now that's sad.

Btw, Jen and I have started our own tradition of in turn giving the ham to the local food shelter. It's much appreciated.
