In all the past world cups, don't it seem funny that although most were held in euorpe or south america, that were ever it's held a team from that cont. wins other than usa-brazil and japan-brazil. So I strongely feel that a team from europe will win. My predictions would suggest Italy, Netherlands, England with dark hores teams like Portugal and Spain having a chance. I don't think Germany has a shot but could be there based on that their the home team

The Czechs, Brits, Dutch, and Italians are all capable of winning it all. Until they show something real, the Iberians can't be called contenders.

Having the Cup in Europe does have an impact, but not as much as it may have in the past. Brazil are still favorites.

Still... given the sheer number of European contenders, you have to give Europe at least better than 50/50 odds to hoist the Cup next year.

Well Brazil has won in Europe before, and they are so full of awesome players, it can definitely happen again. As for European teams that can win it all, the team I think everyone should worry about is the Netherlands. The Dutch fans can easily travel into Germany and therefore many of their matches will practically be home games. Italy is strong and will be looking to rebound from '02, and England has the strongest team they have had in years. Germany is a dark horse, even though they don't have the strongest team, they still field a good team and are at home, which has proven time and again to be a huge advantage in WC. Spain and Portugal are great on paper, but just seem to play underneath their level time and again.
