Draw format
The Round of 32 sees the tournament turn to a knockout format with two-legged ties scheduled for 15/16 and 23 February. The pool winners and runners-up will be at home in the second leg, with sides finishing third and the octet entering from the UEFA Champions League enjoying home advantage in the first leg. Teams from the same association cannot be drawn against one another.
Group winners: AS Monaco FC, US Città di Palermo, FC Steaua Bucuresti, Middlesbrough FC, RC Strasbourg, Olympique de Marseille, AFC Rapid Bucuresti, Sevilla FC.
Runners-up: Hamburger SV, RCD Espanyol, RC Lens, AZ Alkmaar, AS Roma, PFC Levski Sofia, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Zenit St. Petersburg.
Third-placed sides: SK Slavia Praha, FC Lokomotiv Moskva, Hertha BSC Berlin, PFC Litex Lovech, FC Basel 1893, SC Heerenveen, VfB Stuttgart, Bolton Wanderers FC.
Qualifiers from UEFA Champions League: Club Brugge KV, FC Thun, Udinese Calcio, LOSC Lille Métropole, FC Schalke 04, Rosenborg BK, Real Betis Balompié, FC Artmedia.

Not a bad draw. Could have gotten tougher or easier than Bolton. I'll be disapointed but not quite embarrased if we do not beat them. I think we should be able to win this and the next round. Last eight at least ....

it would be so bad to say that Bolton is an easy team and thxt round is guaranteed. Remember two years ago, when we faced Inter in the quarter final, who could believe that we can beat them to go furthermore. And it can happen to us against Bolton if we underestimate them.
as l'om players, Bolton players are also motivated to show their best in the UEFA cup.

I never said it would be easy. Just that it could have be worse like if we got udinese for example. Bolton play in a tough league and have some great players like Nakata. But I think our best are even better especially as we are determined to hang on to Ribery. The other edge we might have is in the supporters. Bolton do not have much European experience and the Velodrome can be a very intimidating place to play.

THE CLUB
The club was founded in 1874 by Bolton's Christian Sunday School. Three years later and the players rebaptised the club, the Bolton Wanderers. In 1888, Bolton became one of the 12 founding clubs of the Football Association. In 1895, the club moved to Burnden Park, which had become one of the best-known stadiums in the land and even hosted the FA Cup final in 1901.

RECORDS
Bolton first earned promotion to the English Premier League in 1995/96. After several seasons yo-yo-ing, they Après des années de yo-yo, in 2001/02 they rejoined the elite after finishing third in Division One. At first glance, the Wanderers' record in the top flight is little to look at. However Bolton have won four FA Cups (1923, 1926, 1929 and 1958) in seven finals. EUROPEAN HISTORY
In finishing sixth in the Premier League, Bolton earned a place in the UEFA Cup. In the first round they beat Lokomotiv Plovdiv in both legs (2-1 and 2-1). In the group phase, Sam Allardyce's side found themselves in a tough group with Sevilla, Zenit St Petersburg, Besiktas and Giumaraes. At the end of five rounds they finished third, undefeated with one win and three draws, behind Sevilla and Zenit.
THE SEASON
Currently fifth in the Premier League, 16 points off leaders Chelsea, Bolton are only seven points off second place, Bolton are proving last season was no fluke. Some big names such as Newcastle and Tottenham have been beaten by the Wanderers. The most recent was called Arsenal. Arsene Wenger's side lost 2-0 at the Reebok Stadium.
