I will be deeply dissappointed if it was.
If argentina is a world power they should not be scared of holland or serbia & Montenegro, which i believe is debuting in the WC.
and least of all, blame it on mexico who has consistently made it to the second round in the last 3 world cups, whereas Argentina was send home early in '02.
i dont mean to be a troll, i just want to make sure that this website made a mistake.
I think Argentina will give a great performance in germany, please dont start making excuses ahead of time, you all have a great potential, and everyone considers you a strong contender for the cup, and making excuses ahead of time only makes u look weak.

Your reading a Mexican article from a Mexican website written by a Mexican jounalist, who is quoting Argentine newsletter Perfil .... not every journalist is unbiased. and remember these are mostly opinions used to create 'polemica' subject matter for use as 'filler-news" when there is no Real news for the day...

Technically speaking, this IS Serbia and Montenegro's first world cup, so he's right on that account. It would count as Slovenia's too had they qualified. Chill.

David Potter reminds me of a Mexican who called a Los Angeles spanish radio station last night. he said basically the same crap. Maybe it was him. He brought up that 'Perfil' thing, and said that Argentina was scared of teams that had never been to the world cup. The radio anouncer asked him if he knew who Serbia & Montenegro was.
The Mexican replied, 'Si, es una isla del Caribe que nunca fue a un mundial.'
Now, that is the level of intelligence and knowledge we are dealing with here.
As far as 'Perfil', what the hell is that? I never heard of it. If somebody wants to quote Clarin or La Nacion or El Grafico or another respected Argentine publication, then we can have a discussion.

Surely you are aware that it is the exact same political entity which played as 'Yugoslavia' in WC 1998. That was Serbia & Montenegro, only with a different name.
Or are you also going to argue that it is an Island in the Caribbean?

Maybe you don't hear it because you cannot speak their language. I am sure they are not happy with their draw.
Anyway, they'll be complaining after we beat them. :D

Yes, I am aware of that. That's what I was saying, fool. Some players on this current team played on Yugoslavia's 98 team, and played on this same squad prior to 2003, when they were classified as 'yugoslavian' internationals.
TECHNICALLY SPEAKING, this is the first time a team representing SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO has appeared in the world cup.
understood?

I tell you what I've heard from the draw ... from Argentinian radio shows ... that the group is difficult because there are no "soft" opponents in it. But that shouldn't deter Argentina from winning the group, which in turn would give us one of the softest Round of 16 games against Mexico. Everyone is under the impression that Portugal will cruise thru Group D.
As to the Perfil publication ... never heard of it.
Hope it helps.

Well Mexico has always done better when we are underestimated, of course argentina knows better than that, but not the portuguesse :D so they wont know what hit them.
I'm thinking that Mexico and Argentina will meet in the next round, but Mexico will probably finish 1st in our group, since we've been doing it in 2 of last 3 world cups without eve being seed and in harder groups, i most say this time god has blessed us.
forgive me for saying this, but I think Argentina will have to battle it out against serbia & Montenegro for the second plays. see ya there. ;)
