France will be difficult, but the Swiss will cause us more problems. Their organization is ridiculously water-tight(sans their 4-2 loss to Turkey)

My friends, my brothers, everyone ...

Let's imagine, a single time, a single second, an international thread on Bigsoccer which DOESN'T start with ethnic or cultural stereotypes.

Is it possible ? Would we simply believe it the day it happens ?

After all, we don't NEED to repeat each and every time that Americans are a bunch of fat, greedy, cretinous and homicidal scavengers ; that Asians are fast and industrious little buggers ; that Brits speak like lords and act like thugs ; that Italians could not say a single truth even if their life would depend on it ; that Germans are as unimaginative and dim-minded as they are well organized ; and, of course, that French are natural seducers, overhelmingly dashing and clever.

We know all of this for sure already, don't we ?

PS : Please note I'm ironic.

Cantona is that you?

Korea shall dominate the game.
yes gook is out but we still have Park who is in the prime of his career.

French team are old, most over 30.
Park will play with your team in the WC.

Pay no mind to this idiot and Aston Villa.

Just a couple of player hating Iranians.

Goh Fuk Off is an Iranian sock.

Everyone is saying age is a factor but Im sure France can play with the best of them and probably will.

The last scrimmage we had against France I believe we lost by a 4 goal differential. France plays a creative game which is often what we deal the worst with. Henry and Zidane will reak havoc against our backline which is arguably the weakest part of the KNT game this year (our defense was much stronger in 2002).

Our midfield is just as good if not better than last time around and if we can control that area with tight, short passes, and nice counters, we have a chance to tie. Thats all Im looking for in this match. A draw. I see Henry drawing first blood in about the 15 or 20 minute. We'll be playing catch-up ball after that.

We have bigger fish to fry in the Swiss (no cake walk) or Togo, the latter being absolutely crucial since its our first game.

Being a French supporter, I obviously smile at such bold statement. IMO, the match will be tough for the French team. Korean players are fast and skilled, overall good with the ball and with strong discipline. Korea might defeat France, that is something we all agree on.

BUT, after being humiliated at the last WC, they won't give in without a fight. Besides, I do think everybody overlooks the fact that if Henry is in top form and doesn't get injured tonight (He was not in 2002 and 2004, and should I remind you he is considered world's 2d best player!!! ), France will have a deadly weapon...

However, France still have to play as a team. But if they manage to get themselves back as a team, Korea will be the team which will suffer.

yes i have to say, France is a favorites in Group G. and who can say they arent? France are a powerhouse in terms of soccer, you have worldclass players like Zidance and Henry, i cant imagine you guys not advancing to the next round..

BUT

you do have to keep in mind that this is soccer and anything can happen.

you may say that Korea wont do as well as they did in 2002 because we dont have home crowd support. well let me tell you a couple of things i know. there are passionate fans for our country this time around for 2006. more people got familiar with the world of soccer especially after Korea's WC performance in 2002, and also Park Ji Sung who is at Manchester. soccer is getting mass media coverage and many stores has tons and tons of supporters shirts for Korea. even if there are only like 1,000 koreans in the stadium to cheer on Korea during the game against France, remember theres probably around millions of Koreans who are gathered outside the streets of Seouls all chanting together and watching Korea on a huge outdoor tv.

Are you French of Japanese? Just curious because of your nick.

On the thread topic, I's say Korea 2-2 France. France is clearly a notch or two above Korea but scheduling a friendly against China on 6/7/06 tells me that they know nothing about us and that they'll be surprised when playing against us.

One can only hope Henry does his usual impersonation of an origami and folds under pressure in big games. ;)

But then again there's Trezeguet... and then there's Zidane... then Cisse... then... aw ********.

Hopefully Korea can get at least a draw.

The Swiss eat dog too. St. Bernard sausages... Of course, Koreans get more flak for their dog eating because we're asian and white people tend to be racists. :p

In all honesty, I'd say Koreans eat dogs a lot less than than Americans eat squirrels and Rocky Mountain oysters.

Anyone named Lim Goh Kheng deserves a punch in the face, and the people who were involved in the naming.
