FYI, both of my brothers went to France '98 and never had a ticket before the day of the game. The prices weren't much more than face value and they were able to see all 3 US games and a couple of the Dutch's games. Things might have changed, but I doubt it.

(of course, if you want to go to the semi-final or final matches you'll have to pay big time prices)

there are about 12 million looking for tickets, and I think million tickets. You're probably fine as far as US since not that many would go, Croatia only has about 1k tickets for supporters (after suits, corporate whores, sponsors, models and other cumeaters that are nowhere to be seen during qualifiers in backwater countries) That's 1000 tickets for tens of thousands trying to go (there are already 250,000 Croatians living in Germany; 50,000 in Stuttgart where we play one game) :) Best chance of getting one is taking it from Japanese, Aussies and Brazilians :D

I think they're also expecting 150,000 English, so they might have a little problem.

IIRC, during France'98, didn't some Croatian players supply tickets to their young fans, who had run out of tickets & money while following Croatia around France as they kept advancing?

yea some. Even on club level if group comes to away game (and most groups go to all away games) then club pays for them to get in or works a deal with other club or club president will pay for ultras to get in (aka asskissing :D). Probably similar on national level, but I really don't see how they're gonna provide enough tickets to not cause riots.
